Modes Vu is a publishing network with collaborators in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

With a focus on digital, distributed ways of working, Modes Vu publishes print photobooks in a time when the photographic image is under way of being fundamentally transformed. By exploring the use of digital images as a means of communication on social networks, the publisher aims to find a new visual language – a 21st century sentiment of photography.

To do this, Modes Vu is pioneering an iterative process of publishing where books are released in a first, second, and eventually third, edition to fully explore the possibilities of each title. First appearing as a Workbook, then as a Green, and eventually a third and final, as of yet unnamed edition, each work goes through three transformational edits and re-designs. It is this process of deliberate experimentation that allows for creative freedom to explore new modes of image-making.
