"Just in case you were wondering, that wasn't me tripping. Just trying out a new dance move."
"I say it every year, but my favorite thing about Fall are the apples.”
"Apples are awesome. I love cooking with them."
"Thats why I don’t own a TV."
"Wait, you don't own a TV? Like at all?"
Would be really expensive to loose a tablet, true. They are cheap, yeah. It’s not my favorite way to read but a computer is certainly harder to loose.
By the way, I’m Emery Sugg, nice to meet you.
He laughs and shakes his head. "I wouldn't put it past me to lose a desktop computer," he said with a shrug. "Nice to meet you too. I'm Asher Gibbs, but you can just call me Ash."
"Hmm… maybe you should read on a computer or a tablet then? This way you always know where you put it!"
"Nah, I'd just loose a tablet," he laughed. "But the computer sounds pretty good. Ebooks are pretty cheap."
"So do I, TV is real good. Tho books are even greater."
"Books are cool and all. Takes me forever to finish one 'cause I'm always forgetting where I put it."
"That’s the negative thing about TV and getting addicted to TV shows…"
"But...t.v. is so good. I love my t.v."
“Sh- ah, what are you doing here?”
I live here. What are you doing here?
He watched as the wings fluttered, slowly reaching over to touch them. “Yeah, I’m a ghost hunter…but I love anything supernatural. Your wings, though, are pretty.” He said, looking to Asher with an excited smile. “I’m just a human. Nothin’ special about me, really.”
Asher spread out his wings a bit so Alvin would be able to touch the tip. He had no problem with people lightly touching them as long as he wasn't taken surprise by it. "Ha, yeah, I guess. They get me where I need to go," he said with a shrug. "Humans are pretty cool, though. Never really met a lot of them. There's only a couple working at my job. Most of 'em are witches or werewolves."
Flame: Our muses are building a fire together
"Alright, cool. Now just dump that last cinder block over there," Asher said, gesturing to the last corner of the pit they were making. Pulling off the work gloves, he grinned at the man before laughing. "This…this is gonna be epic, I swear!" He laughed again, dumping his gloves off on a lawn chair as he walked across his back porch to grab the charcoal bags.
"Oomph," Alvin muttered under his breath, letting the heavy cinder block fall into place. "What are we making, anyways? When you said we were cooking over fire, I kinda thought it’d be marshmallows or burgers or something," he called out to Asher as he walked off. Alvin eyed the huge pit doubtfully, wondering what the fairy had in mind.
Alvin was busy adjusting the blocks a bit so they were perfectly in line when Asher showed back up with the bags of charcoal. “That’s a lot of charcoal,” he said, watching as Asher opened up a bag.
"Yeah, man. It’s gonna take a lot of charcoal to roast a whole pig!" he said, laughing aloud as he started pouring out the first bag of charcoal. "A…A what!? A pig? You’re joking right?" Alvin asked, looking at Asher in surprise. "Huh? No! A whole pig. It’s gonna be awesome and taste delicious," Asher promised him, tossing aside the empty bag. Seeing the human’s look, Asher shrugged. "What? It’s not like I’m serving you stuff in it’s own shells."
"This is different!" Alvin, shaking his head a few times. "I can eat a pork chop. I can eat bacon. I can eat ham. But I can’t eat an actual pig. It’s face would be staring at me the whole time with it’s little eyes-Oh my God, you’re not going to make me eat it’s face, are you?" he asked nervously, fretting to himself as Asher dumped the last of the coal into the pit.
"What? Alright, you need to take a breath, bro. Calm down or something, Alvin," the fairy said. "This is gonna be awesome and no, you’re not gonna eat anything out of a pig’s head," he said, picking up a bottle of lighter fluid and squeezing liberal amounts of the liquid over the coals. Lighting the charcoal on fire, he stirred them around until the fire started to die down a little. "In a few hours time, you’re gonna be thanking me for making this," Asher said with a grin.
~~Later that evening~~
Asher grinned across the table at Alvin, laughing between bites of his food. “See? What’d I tell ya? Delicious, right!?” he said, popping some pork into his mouth.
"This is so good…That poor little pig…," Alvin said, not stopping his eating even as he was mourning the loss of the pig.
Seeing the hand, he reached out and shook it roughly in excitement. “Pleased t’ meet ya!” He said with a laugh, letting go and looking to the man. “Awesome. And I’ll be sure to tackle a ghost, spirit, or poltergeist that comes near those pretty little wings of yours!”
"Haha, what, these?" he asked, looking over his shoulder as he fluttered his wings. "Naw, I got these under control. Ghosts, huh? That's pretty cool? You some ghost hunter or something?"
Nixon sat at table at the library reading a book. He looked up to see who was standing in front of him. “Oh, sorry I didn’t see you there. Did you need something?”
Asher had went into the library, knowing full well what he had in mind to do. But he passed by the magazine rack, spotting the cover of a food magazine and had been distracted by the cover photo of a rack of ribs. And now someone was talking. "Uh," he said, looking around as he tried to remember. "I can't...really remember what I was doing?"
"Well shit!" He said with a laugh as the other corrected him, blushing a bit in embarrassment. "I’m usually the smart one and you just jumped over my head easily." Alvin complimented, shaking his head and looking back to the man. "You can always borrow it, man. Just…don’t serve me lobster shells and we’ll be square. I’m Alvin, by the way. Alvin Foley."
"Nah, it's no big deal, you know? Sometimes, people just know stuff they're into. I've been into cooking since I was a kid, so I'm gonna know some stuff," he said with a shrug. "But alright, cool. I can keep the shells away from you," he promised, holding his hand out for a shake. "I'm Asher Gibbs, but you can just call me Ash."
"All of it sounds insane!" He exclaimed with a laugh, shaking his head. "Why not just show me how to make it, serve it to me in a fuckin’ round dish thing that cream bruleys come in." Alvin offered, chuckling a bit before looking to his feet. "No, but I’ll fuckin’ do it. Proclaim my hate for vicious killing of lobsters!"
"What? Oh wow, man...I guess I'm just used to hanging around a lot of food nerds," he said, shaking his head with a laugh. "It's not cream bruleys, it's creme brulee. And the ramikins I was talking about are the round dish things," he added, still laughing a bit. "I'm gonna steal your megaphone and rant about cream bruleys."
WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?
"Technically, I never really had one? Since, you know…." he trails off, gesturing to the light green wings sprouting from his back. "Not really human and all."
"Do you understand how insane that sounds?! I mean, imagine someone taking a cow, cutting out it’s insides, scrambling them up with egg and brandy, and serving it to us in the head and torso of the cow! God…that shit better taste fucking amazing or I’m going to take my megaphone and rant about it."
"No, see...That sounds insane. Who'd do that?" he asked, shaking his head in disbelief. "Look, bro, it's good. But I know if you tried to order it outside of the shell in a restaurant, the head chef would get pissed," he added, shrugging a bit though he grinned at him. "Wait, are we still at university or something?" he teased him.
