[Annabella is holding a pink box, with a smaller one on top] [Benny is holding a gift bag and he eagerly holds it up to Dee with a toothy smile] I hope you like it! Mama helped me pick it out! [inside the bag is a nice pair of sunglasses and a scarf] [also a drawing Benny made in crayon of him and Dee]

[he takes the gift bag from Benny] Oh that’s so cool. Guess I’ll have to open it then [takes a seat on the couch and Luca decides to make himself known] [Dee goes backs to open the gift] Oh these are so cute. [takes a look at the drawing] Is this me and you?

There was a moment where Roderich tripped over his words, clearly not yet used to Demetrio’s ways of teasing. “Ah, well. Yes, I’ll be careful.” He gave a small nod. “Until later.”

Demetrio has a way with teasing it was in his blood and it was his utmost life force. “Until later.” He repeated and with that he let himself out of the door. Now his true mission was finding his way back home for real this time.

“Oh good, I do hope to get to talk with you on hopefully less awkward terms.” Places a business card at the table. “Don’t worry we’ll have loads of fun.” 

Roderich took the business card, pocketing it with a nod. “I… look forward to it.” It was a bit uncertain; it’d been some time since he last dined with another, after all. But it wouldn’t be polite to decline after the man had so graciously assisted him. “I suppose we’ll see each other later, then?”

Demetrio gave a smile. "I'll see you later, please take care of yourself. I'll let Lovino know to come by and kiss your wounds. Okay, I'm joking. But seriously take care of yourself."

“That’s fine by me, then.” Roderich nodded slightly, pushing up his glasses. “All right. I’ll be certain to let you know if something comes up, but I’m fairly certain I will be able to accept your invitation.”

“Oh good, I do hope to get to talk with you on hopefully less awkward terms.” Places a business card at the table. “Don’t worry we’ll have loads of fun.”

“That works for me, I suppose.” He had a physical therapy appointment in the late afternoon, so it would work out fine. Hopefully, though, he wouldn’t be too grumpy afterwards. “You said you live on the third floor, correct? Shall I meet you at your apartment or will we be eating elsewhere?”

“But yes third floor.I believe it would be best to have dinner at my apartment. Hopefully not too much of a hassle with getting around.” Demetrio pulled out his phone to clear some appointments. “I can leave you my number and you can text or call me later if you change your mind.”

“I… suppose I could do dinner,” Roderich conceded with a small nod, fussing with his glasses again. “It’s the least I could do. Just give me a time and day and I’ll come. I’m typically free.” Living on his own and already retired, Roderich had plenty of free time and no reasons to turn down this offer, other than just being uncertain about it all.

“Oh good I’m glad, we’ll have plenty of fun.”Demetrio gave him a smile. “How about next Tuesday at 7:30?“ That seemed like a time at least. "Or maybe we can do it earlier.”

There was a pause, Roderich frowning slightly. “I… haven’t played for anyone in many years,” he admitted, a vague way of saying he wouldn’t exactly be comfortable doing so yet. “But I should pay you back somehow for your help. You were very kind to help me get up. I likely would still be on the floor right now if I hadn’t been so lucky to get assistance.”

“That’s okay sunshine.” He gave him a pat on the shoulder. “How about having dinner with me some time. I’m on the third floor if you ever want to hang out for a bit.”

“Oh, well…” Roderich stumbled a bit over his words, rather caught off guard by this sudden slew of compliments. Was it flirting? He really wasn’t certain. In a less surprising setting he might have played along, but he was still a bit shaken from having fallen earlier, so found himself unsure how to react. “I suppose I just… keep to myself,” he managed lamely, doing his best to keep his formalities intact. 

“I guess it would be too much to ask to hear you play. We just meet after all,besides I’m sure I’ve out stayed my welcome. So if you’re okay, I don’t have to call your love down then. I can get out your hair.”

To say Roderich was a little flustered was an understatement. He shifted in his wheelchair, uncertain where to look. “Ah– um, well… thank you…?” he said uncertainly, fiddling with his glasses. He was well aware that people often found him attractive, though he couldn’t understand why for the life of him.

“I’m surprise no one has snapped you up. You’re just so adorable, like i can’t even with you.” Demetrio felt as if he was likely making the other a bit uncomfortable with his added time in this man’s apartment but he wanted company but knew this wasn’t the way to get it

“Well, children are quite a lot of work, I can understand him being busy.” Roderich paused, frowning slightly, still unsure what to make of this situation. “Ah… well… there isn’t much to say about me. I’m just a retired musician living alone.”

“Oh yes they are. I rather care for dogs if I’m going to put effort in raising something.” He inched just a bit closer and rested a hand on his wheelchair. “I can find one more thing to say about you. You’re quite handsome, I’m glad I got a bit lost.”

Despite himself, Roderich felt himself grow flustered, and he rubbed the back of his neck with a forced laugh. “Ah, yes, well… I figure he must be… rather busy, caring for two children now. He seems a responsible father, though.”

Demetrio gets up and walks over to him. “If it isn’t work he’s with his kids. He barely has time for fun.” He moves the hair from own his face. “Enough about my cousin,why don’t you tell me about yourself,hmm bello?”

“Oh, no, it’s really fine, I’m just a little– surprised, that’s all.” He made himself stop fiddling with his glasses and instead began to lightly tap the armrest of his wheelchair with one finger. Roderich forced out a small laugh. “I’m sure he wouldn’t be very happy to hear you said that.” Truthfully, Roderich was curious to know he’d been talked about, but he decided to not pry.

“Though it’s not like, I told you his whole life story. Then again he’s probably more focus on his children than getting laid.” He just chuckled.

A bit surprised, some of Roderich’s usual stiffness melted away, replaced by a slightly flustered expression. He coughed into his fist and fiddled with his glasses. “…I’ll pretend I didn’t hear anything, then.” Again, though he just did, he adjusted his glasses. “Ah… thank you, I suppose.”

“I just hope that didn’t ruin anything between you two, you know friendship wise. He’d kick my butt if he learned I blurted something like that out.”Demetrio really needed to keep his mouth shut he was always getting in trouble for almost every little thing.

Roderich certainly knew a thing or two about being out of shape. Not that he would admit it, but it was nice to have someone help him get into his wheelchair. Usually, doing so would leave him exhausted. “If you’re certain…” He said with a small frown.

“…I’m Roderich. And no, no need to call anyone, I’m fine. Thank you for your help.”

“Wait Roderich? Oh..” He clapped his hands together. “So you must be the Roderich my cousin was talking about the other day. He did say you were cute.” He covered his mouth, realizing he just threw Lovino straight under the bus with that last statement. “You weren’t supposed to hear that.” He smiles at him as he rises from the chair. “You are very handsome.”

Situating himself on his wheelchair, Roderich sighed, glad to be off of the ground. “Yes, please, sit down. Are you all right?” he hoped he hadn’t caused the other too much distress, that would only make a bad situation worse. “There is water in the kitchen, I can get you a glass if you’d like.” All of his dishes and such were placed in lower shelves so Roderich could reach them. Serving a guest wasn’t impossible, but he did feel a bit strange having someone he didn’t know in his house. Rarely anyone came over save for the maid.

“Si, bello I’m fine. Just a bit out of shape is all.” He huffed as he settled into the chair that was conveniently nearby. “That’s sweet of you to offer, I just need a moment so no need to bother.” Looks like he was going to have to hit the gym soon or at least stay away all those desserts. Once he finally was able to catch his breath he decided it was a good idea to introduce himself. “I’m Demetrio, I really hope you’re okay after all that. Is there anyone I can call, a friend? Significant Other?” Demetrio was a bit worried for the other.
