Zwingenberg Castle, Germany 🇩🇪
Perched above the Neckar Valley in Zwingenberg, Germany, Zwingenberg Castle dates back to around the 13th century. It was originally built as a fortified residence to control trade routes along the river and assert regional power.
Throughout the centuries, the castle changed hands between noble families and was strengthened during times of conflict. Despite periods of decline, it survived wars and natural wear, standing today as one of the best-preserved medieval castles in the Neckar region.
Today, the castle is still inhabited and occasionally used for cultural events, blending living history with breathtaking views over the valley.
