Les Étoiles (“The Stars”) in Ivry-sur-Seine, France, is one of the most iconic examples of post-war experimental housing. Designed by architect Jean Renaudie in the 1970s, the complex rejects the monotony of uniform blocks — instead, it bursts into angular terraces, sharp geometries, and lush rooftop gardens.

Heddal Stave Church, Norway 🇳🇴
Heddal Stave Church is the largest surviving stave church in Norway and is believed to have been built in the early 13th century, around the year 1200. It is located in Notodden, in Telemark county.
The church was constructed during the Middle Ages using traditional wooden architecture known as the “stave” technique, where vertical wooden posts (staves) form the structure’s framework. Its design reflects a unique combination of Christian symbolism and earlier Viking-era artistic traditions, especially in its dragon-head carvings and intricate woodwork.
Over the centuries, Heddal Stave Church has undergone several restorations, particularly in the 19th century, to preserve its original medieval character. Today, it remains an active parish church and one of Norway’s most important historical and architectural landmarks.
