My criticism of Biopop is heavily influenced by my inability "Censori the artist" from "Censori, the woman who's claim to fame is marrying Kanye West." Any time an artist does a piece that "about themselves," it risks being an ego trip, but I can't see a room full of submissives made to wear Bianca Censori masks as anything but an ego trip.

Still, let's look at the message of the piece. By enjoying cake on furniture made of latex-Censoris, Censori-prime is making a statement that her luxurious lifestyle is only possible by exploiting her looks and sexuality. This is exactly the same message of Allen Jones' Hatstand, Table and Chair did 55 years ago, delivered in exactly the same way.

The only real difference is that Biopop is performance art, not sculpture, so is it good performance art? Kinda no. The clips I've been showing are from the last 4 minutes of the performance, and the first 10 minutes are Censori miming making a cake while making latex. My kink is domestic labor in latex, and I still think it's boring!

Performative displays of labor are simply not the same as actual labor. Now, if that was the actual point of Biopop, I'd have to give it credit, but I simply don't think that Censori is self-aware enough to base her performance on that.
