you're just mad because you're hungry and tired and your legs hurt and you head hurts and you're too hot and you have depression
Backed by a conservative legal group, a white doctor is suing “Find A Black Doctor” for allegedly discriminating against non-Black physician
They're mad they don't get to kill us
Boulangerie Persiflette by Pierre-Alexandre Schuller
They weren’t lying when they said that as an adult you have to fight for your life to practice your hobbies
They also weren’t lying when they said that when you fail to do so your soul shrivels up inside your body and dies
This is always my premise when I go out into society.
I can’t sleep, I have to torture myself psychologically
Sending love to those desperately trying to reignite their spark.
i feel like people aren't getting how dire ai is. we are running out of drinkable water. our brains aren't engaging as much with what we see and hear. people near data centers don't get clean water and experience electricity blackouts. it's being used to make pornography of underaged people and women. it often just lies. it affirms everything. it lies. it has made people kill themselves. it lies for gods sake. and people act as if im dramatic for being staunchly against it. 'now i KNOOW you hate ai and whatever, but look at this cute video' this isn't me being a new age puritan about internet videos, this is about the fucking earth and our future living on this planet. people are suffering now, people will suffer more, and my friends and parents will roll their eyes and think im annoying for despising ai so explicitly. we need to wake up because we cannot live like this
every time there’s a white man in a main cast full of women and actors of color, y’all always go for the mediocre white man. now why is that?
Fucking misogynistic writers, for fuck's sake, because imagine taking a woman who is politically active, strategically aware, and deeply invested in succession power and just… reduce her into a softer, more reactive role. The greens only exist bc of THAT WOMAN, they don't just "happen" she BUILDS that whole power base over years and in the show they turn her into a servant for the blacks open the gates for them and abandon her children.
Book Alicent is all about her kids first not in a “holier than thou” way, but in a raw, protective way where she’ll actually go to war for them if she has to she doesn’t sit back or stay passive, she pushes, and fights for their future because that’s what drives her. Her love for her children makes her fearless and is her biggest motivation and that what makes her more interesting and sympathetic bc she's a mother.
Brain fog in the kitchen can mean anything from forgetting an ingredient to accidentally skipping a recipe step, plus much more. Here's how to bake successfully, even when you're feeling foggy.
A useful article from King Arthur Flour (my beloved) on baking while disabled.
This genuinely might make me cry. I already deeply appreciate King Arthur for making the best GF 1 for 1 flour. And having good recipes. But an article posted by them from someone with disabilities about how to do the thing even with disabilities? That’s just genuinely lovely. I know that my bad there is low, but it’s low for a reason and hopefully stuff like this can continue to raise that bar for disabled people like me.
I love to see this! Another of my favorites is the baking with arthritis post.
With some changes to techniques, a careful selection of kitchen tools, and tips from fellow bakers, the joy of baking can live on.
Check out this great addition from the notes!
[image text: @system-splintered says: My grandmother started having severe memory issues a couple years before she passed, and her husband laminated her recipes and got her whiteboard markers so she could mark off things she did. It let her bake for a lot longer than she would have been able to otherwise. End.]

With all the talk and praise about how Gothic cinema is so back, I really hope to see people keep this energy up if/when Mārama releases internationally. This looks like it's going to be a really gorgeous film and not only is it one of the first Aotearoa/New Zealand Gothic films, but it's specifically a Māori Gothic horror.
And don't even get me started on the poster design!! I gasped when I saw the tag line on the trailer
Whakapapa. Whānau. Utu.
I like what ive seen so far of Ariana, I enjoyed her as Tui in Madam earlier last year, so I'm excited to see her step up into this leading role.
Mārama ,dir Taratoa Stappard
Set in Victorian-era North Yorkshire, the film follows a young Māori woman named Mary fighting to reclaim her identity and connect with her whakapapa and culture while living in a foreign land. She uncovers her horrific colonial heritage and is compelled to confront and destroy the Englishman who devastated her family. Mary gradually discovers he is an obsessive, fetishistic collector of Māori cultural artefacts. Even worse, he harbours a gruesome, secret history from his years spent ‘harvesting’ the waters off New Zealand.
