Just a crazy? thought- when Eurus told Sherlock to play himself, he played what most of us are familiar with as Irene Adlerās song. But what if that wasnāt composed for her at all? What if it was Sherlockās way of working through his feelings for a certain pathologist? The first time Sherlock truly realised how badly heād been hurting Molly was the same night Irene ādiedā. In composing his sad music, Sherlock could have been expressing the regret he felt for have hurting Molly and trying to figure out his other feelings for her. Following this possibility, it would mean that when Sherlock played this theme as āhimselfā it meant he was laying bare his most human emotion, his love for Molly Hooper. The coffin puzzle really broke Sherlock, I think. It was painful that heād hurt Molly so much that she didnāt want to talk to him on a bad day. It hurt that she couldnāt believe him when he told the truth, that he loved her. And it hurt when she didnāt want to say it back because it was true for her, too. We see Sherlock in true despair as how much heās hurt Molly previously nearly brings her death. He was shaken enough afterwards that he smashed the coffin his pathologist may have been in and had lost his will to go on until John pulled him back up. God, I really believe Eurus was setting Sherlock up to let his feelings for Molly surface. I think she wanted to see her brother, not his normally cool facade. There will definitely be fanfic from this on my end.
