Lucas was in a pretty good mood. It was the first day in weeks he hadn’t been woken by a handful of agitated birds clawing at his cabin window, to start. Not to mention the fact that he had no chores or activities planned until midday. And of course the weather helped- a bright blue sky, evened out by some wispy clouds veiling the sunshine. Lucas was content as he strolled out of the cabin circle, towards the beach. Lucas figured he should have known better than to assume he’d actually get a break. He sighed as he felt someone tap his shoulder incessantly. 

He turned around and gave his most withering, ‘What is it?’ To the camper in front of him.

Caitlin didn’t like the intense look on his face when he turned to her, and it had her resting a hand on Maia’s head, as spoke. “Sorry to bother you, but my daughter found a wallet on the ground back there, and I was wondering if it’s yours? You’re just the first person I saw, but if it’s not yours, we can just keep looking, I guess.”

Bentley grinned, glancing at Maia for a moment before turning back to Cait. “Hm? Blonde hair, blue eyes, that sort of little girl? No, I can’t say I have.” He said, shooting a grin at Maia. “Other than mine, I haven’t seen a little girl around. Nope, haven’t seen her.” 

Caitlin watched him looked at her daughter, and tried not to laugh as she played the worried mother. "Yes, exactly, like an adorable mini me.” It was unmistakable, the sound of her daughter’s giggle, but still she played their game, doing her best to keep her little one happy. ”Oh no, whatever will I do, now? Maia is my everything, and now she’s just gone and wandered off, to gods know where. Maybe your daughter has seen her? Surely one small child isn’t likely to miss another at a function like this.”

Caitlin spared Azlea a glance, before she went back to watching her daughter with a smile. “You know, I would, or would’ve, if Maia hadn’t come, but I’m mom duty this evening; sorry. I agree about the party though, it does seem like a bit of a let down for those of us over three.”

Cait was enjoying the ball, partly because she always liked extravagant parties, but mostly because her daughter was having a blast, which always made her happy. As Maia picked someone new to hide behind, Caitlin walked up to them, and gave them her best smile. “Pardon me, but have you seen a little girl around anywhere? I seem to have lost mine, but she’s not too hard to miss, given the big blue wings she’s wearing.”
