it was impossible to suppress the wide smile that now occupied mere’s face. not that she wanted to, anyway. every compliment given between her friends was always so genuine—they truly believed in each other, one hundred percent. the love was there, that much was obvious. feeling it especially so now, the brunette playfully leaned into the redhead. “trying? i thought that was quite successful,” she answered, eyes spotting the nearest exit. they quickly flashed back to cait at her smooth words. “whoa, c!” she laughed, the girls’ voices echoing down the hall. if anyone saw them they’d swore they walked right out of a catalog or cheesy movie.
the decision to leave school took mere a moment of consideration—she’d just skipped yesterday to find jer—but ultimately she decided it was fine. her last period was study hall, after all. mr. knox woulnd’t mind if his most studious student decided to do homework at home today. at least, she assumed. “ew,” mere said of detention as her nose scrunched. “i guess we have to make the most of your time before you’re thrown into the clink, then.”
" i was playing HARD to get, i mean how else are we going to get a movie written about us? “ caitlin replied with a with a snort. “ we’ve got to embellish our lives a little if we want to be the next titanic. “ she finished with a roll of her shoulders. “ you know without the sinking, or freezing probably a lot more sex —- possibly rated r. “ she rambled on, catching up on her own joke before shaking her head. “ gotta enjoy my time as a free bird, before i get locked up in the CLINK. the outside world will be nothing but a memory. “ she added dramatically placing her free hand over her forehead. “ but i’ll be sure to trade some gum, for pen and paper on the inside. our love will go on, even if it’s via LETTER. “ she finished, pretending to sniffle. there seriously was no place she felt better than in the company of one of the people she cared the most about in the world, all of the anger she always felt just disappeared and she knew that it was all because of them. “ which reminds me, i’d need a last meal too... i’m thinking lots and lots of mac and cheese.“
