Well, he got to see TAB. He didn't care for it. And now he'll never learn the "truth" about Moriarty, which is a shame, since ol' Jim was his favorite and he really did want to know. I briefly considered suing Moffat & Gattis for pain & suffering, but decided not to bother.

So he'll never know, and probably I won't either. Because I think I'm done.

I know a lot happened in His Last Vow that had fans… distracted. And there’s certainly the chance I missed some posts in the last few years. But I don’t remember seeing much commentary on this moment, even though it seems like something worth taking note of to me.

Sherlock: This is not what you think. This is for a case. Mycroft: What case could possibly justify this? Sherlock: Magnussen. (Mycroft’s slight smile drops.) Sherlock: Charles Augustus Magnussen. (Mycroft draws in a breath and turns to Anderson and Benji.) Mycroft: That name you think you may have just heard – you were mistaken. If you ever mention hearing that name in this room, in this context, I guarantee you – on behalf of the British security services – that materials will be found on your computer hard drives resulting in your immediate incarceration. Don’t reply – just look frightened and scuttle. (Anderson immediately ushers Benji out of the kitchen and follows her onto the landing, closing the door behind him. Mycroft turns back to where John is standing beside Sherlock.) Mycroft: I hope I won’t have to threaten you as well. [transcript source]

aaah. I love the idea of seeing Mycroft have to survive by his wits. I suspect he’d be quite resourceful, and I doubt he’d have much trouble achieving his aims (good or bad) and eventually saving his own bacon. Perhaps with some help from his little brother.

Sherlock needs to realize that his brother is not an indestructible god. And of course if Mycroft’s safety net is removed, so is Sherlock’s. They’d both be living on their wits.

My only concern would be if they went extreme ACD Mycroft, and made him impractical and helpless. If they turn him into yet another damsel in distress for Sherlock to rescue, I may finally kill my television.

Is there anything said about Mycroft tie pin? I couldn't quite see what it is on the photo's.

I can’t see it in much detail in the photos but it looks new to me. He’s worn tie clips before but not a tie pin as far as I know.

Whenever I see a photo of Mark in natural daylight when he has Mycroft hair, I continue to be struck by how very NOT GINGER he is.

Mark can’t be more than one shade lighter than the Sherlock-hair, so unless you want to claim he’s ginger too… nope. Freckles will only take you so far.
