Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl Muffins

These early summer nights are so surreal, it’s almost like winter never existed. I can hear faint sounds of parties in the nearby houses, the breeze still soft when I walk home. The air smells like my grandmother’s garden and the promise of a nice meal in her kitchen before I go to bed, cool sheets by the window. I pet the neighbour’s cat passing by, he seems to appreciate this warmth as much as I do. As I reach my own home, I feel like it truly is my home. The soft glow from the window makes my tiny little living room feel like the one I grew up in. The lights are all off, but it never gets dark in June.
