may not have been intentional, but still happened.
Based on the information I have, it seems like our next step should be for everyone to finish their land quests and begin thinking about confronting denizens, I suppose.
exactly, to fight. if you do not intend to fight, then do not take others. if you intend to fight, then go right the hell ahead and do whatever you want.
Duly noted, although I doubt Thomas and his crew intended to fight.
Denizen DEFEATING? Â Not explicitly. Â Denizen CONFRONTING, however, is. Â They hold access to this stuff which is required to initiate The Ultimate Alchemy. Â It can be given to you willingly, or you can take it from them by force. Â Either way, youâll need that stuff to finish off the game. Â So, after a while, youâll need to confront them if you want to continue.
I see. Thank you very much for the information, Iâm sure it will be very important in the future.
extremely. do not try to trick them. they will find out.
passive ones can become extremely useful allies, and hostile ones will find and murder players that have gone against them by any means necessary. theyâre strong, fast, and could be considered gods in a sense. but, if you finish your choice or kill them, youâve gained a buttload of experience, and a new friend!*
*disclaimer: friendship is dependent on passive denizens. do not attempt to befriend a hostile denizen. do not take friends to meet your denizen, they see this as a fight and will attack whether they intend to be passive or hostile initially.
Iâve gotten kinda conflicting information from you and Thomas on this one. Thomas said he and his friends went together to fight all their denizens.
denizens? thatâs easy. theyâre creatures that can be either passive or hostile, dependent on their interaction with the player and the goals of the player. personally, me and my denizen are pretty close, but i know a lot of sessions where they attack players outright due to their choices throughout the session. theyâre all based on different gods or creatures of mythology, for example my friend brea is a time player and sheâs talked of hephaestus, meanwhile mine is cetus and heâs kind of a jerk sometimes but iâm kind of okay with it because i just donât care anymore. usually the denizen will give the player The Choice, but again thatâs dependent on session progress and how the game is supposed to be won. some choices will involve a fight with the denizen, others may be very passive, again dependent on the player.Â
How...intelligent would you say they are? I mean...as compared to sentient human beings.Â
The initial plan went thusly:
Team up with really powerful monster person, win game.
However, as previously explained, things didnât go to that plan. Â At all.
I see.
So um...is denizen-defeating...integral in any way to winning?
someone needs knowledge?
Er...yes. What can you tell me about denizens?
That is actually plenty of information, thanks. So...what was your strategy?
I can qualify as someone who is knowledgable about SBURB.
Or, failing that, I have access to two OTHER people who have powers revolving around knowledge, so, yâknow, if I canât tell you whats up maybe they can.
Brilliant. What can you tell me about denizens?
I need the advice of someone who is knowledgable about SBURB.
The amount of ball growing it took to land you where you are right now is almost unbelievable, but youâre here. Youâre leaned against Ellaâs doorframe, watching her work. She doesnât know youâre there yet. Itâs not the place that you needed to grow up to go to - itâs what youâre about to say.
I mean, you could back out. You donât have to do this. Not right now. Or ever.
No. You have to do this.
ââŠHey, El.â
You look up from the table where you were drawing out plans and figures and turn towards the doorway. Oh, there he is. You were beginning to wonder when heâd show up.
âHey, Dad. I mean. Brad. ...Do you mind if I call you Dad? Would that be weird?â
I feel like I donât talk to most of my followers?Â
Or maybe most of you donât talk to me? I donât know, just someone talk to me please. Iâm going to go insane from boredom.

I donât want to sit around and do nothing anymore.
I...I think I gotta start working on a game plan, Brad or no Brad.
Me as a parent
Son: Daddy, I can't sleep.
Me: Don't worry son, I'll sing you a lullaby.
Me: Hush little baby, don't say a word.
Me: And never mind that noise you heard.
Me: It's just the beasts under your bed.
Me: In your closet, and IN YOUR HEEEAAAAD!
Me: EEEEEEXIIIIIT LIGHT! EEEEEENNTEEEEEERRRR NIIIIGHT!...
