I stumbled across @arythusa’s The Glass Scientists webcomic early this year and fell in love, so I animated a little scene for fun 🧪

I built a Front and 3/4 Front Jekyll and Hyde rig (fun fact, they’re one rig!) and animated them in Toon Boom Harmony, HalluciLanyon spawning and getting harpooned is a tweaked version of that rig, and him getting bodied was drawn in Procreate.  The layout was also made in Harmony. The audio is from the movie Drop Dead Fred.

I used the comic itself as the ‘model sheet’ to build the rig off of- used various panels for their heights and body parts in place of character, hand, mouth, etc sheets, so many pieces are pulled right from the pages. I also got to experiment with compositing, which was fun!

The art and story of this comic hooked me and I’m so excited to see where it goes! ❣️

For.the Valentine's day (and me and my girlfriend anniversary) I drew our Ocs because I can.

This are Calcifer and Caspian, some of our Ocs that we use in our TGS roleplay.

anyways henry having some (very repressed) resentment towards robert after their breakup which then got pushed on hyde after they split... mixed in with henrys (also repressed) lingering feelings for lanyon? oughhh. no wonder why he avoided him

I love how you play with different kinds of distortion to evoke feelings and memories, and use composition too!

Composition: The characters are in the same spot in each panel, but because of the angle, the panel's frame cut off beneath Jekyll and Robert's eyes. They are beyond our perception and maybe that of the characters, too.

Hyde, as the smallest character, has his entire head inside the frame, so we see his entire expression. It's one of bitterness, resentment, and repressed longing. His panel is overlaid with a grainy filter like through a camera with not-quite-good quality. Showing his distorted thoughts and feelings, especially because he doesn't know what Lanyon's feeling. Hence, Lanyon's face is in shadow. But also likely because he carries his regret of the break-up around in secret.

The second frame with Jekyll is under a softly-colored filter. The lines are clean, without sketchiness, showing the nostalgia Jekyll maybe thinks back on these memories with sometimes, ignoring the issues that existed back then already Maybe that's why we don't see their eyes.

This picture keeps haunting me. (In a good way.) Solanki's hugging her arms, hunched over. She might be crying. Lanyon's sitting on the edge of the bed on the other side, staring into space, playing with the wedding ring he never wished to wear, not with Everly Solanki. Their backs are facing each other, so they don't see how distressed the other is.

It must have been such an awful situation for both, until they realized neither of them wanted this and neither would demand any sexual intimacy or the likes from the other. That we don't see her face makes it worse for me. Because for her as a woman, the situation's even worse. She doesn't want to be here, but as her husband, Lanyon has so much power over her in this society. She doesn't know yet he doesn't want this either. They're both trapped in this room.

my gf held me captive to read the glass scientists, then a few trips down the jekyll n hyde rabbit hole and now i've been infected with a liking to them. have my slop

also im a furry, theyre both jaguars. NOT leopards, if you call them leopards i will kill myself.. also Lanyon is a fallow deer ! :3

TGS HALLOWEEN

Hello everyone. I just made this account, so I'm really new to Tumblr! So this is my First post here (I'm also on Instagram and X). I Hope to find my people!

I made this drawing for Halloween and wanted to share it here too. Vampire Lanyon is an element that lives rent free in my mind. This is slightly suggestive maybe? I don't know.
