One of the things I love most about Leverage is that Eliot is essentially Barbie.
Yes, I know, a huge part of Eliot’s shtick is that people underestimate him. The hitter has brains too. But I feel like he is being underestimated so much more than just that.
Because Sophie is the actress, the grifter, she slips into roles. Parker, Nate and Hardison can play a part too, if it’s required.
But Eliot? He doesn’t just play a part. He actually brings the qualification for these very specific jobs.
He caters a rich people wedding, because he is actually a brilliant cook.
He becomes a country singer, because he can actually sing and play the guitar.
He becomes a famous baseball player for a hot second, because he really knows how to swing a bat.
He becomes a semi-professional wrestler, because he knows how to wrestle.
He doesn’t just play a persona, he actually slips into highly specific professions and does such a bang job of playing the part, because he can actually do all of those things.
He’s Barbie. And I love him for that.
