Today, I challenged myself to try a new medium. I used colored pencils to make a blue jay on a branch...the branch did come out kind of like a pile of poo. 😂 Whoops.
I am happy with how the blue jay turned out. Going outside of my comfort zone felt good.
The colored pencils were very humbling. I look forward to using them again. This week, I plan on drawing a few more birds. As I'd like to practice and challenge myself more.
Thanks for reading this! ❤️
when in doubt, collage it out 🦌🥀
Sometimes sketchbooks can be intimidating. Sometimes I just don't know what to draw or just need to warm up. I have fallen in love with doodling on index cards. It's a low stake way of doodling without the pressure to make something good.
Making dumb unimportant doodles feels good. So I started gluing them in a spiral notebook.
Be kind and make bad art. ❤️
I took an ad out in my local paper looking to employ a porter for my door. A few applicants applied but none seem fit to guard my door. Until one morning a gargoyle came to my door. He'd told me that a gargoyle is the perfect fit to guard my topsoil. He asked for $60 and a few head pats. I paid him $60 and gave a firm pat on the head. He sat on my step and said, "When do I get fed?"
