There was a lengthy silence on the other end of the line; the only sign that Killmaster hadn’t hung up was a series of clicks and chirps.

“I will be sure to inform him of the reason for the delay to his lesson should he get grumpy. Who knows, maybe he will invite you to our next practise session as a volunteer” He sneered right back, spinning on a pede as he indee went for the long way round.

Killmaster’s optics flashed with amusement. “Oh, you’re a mouthy one, aren’t you? Do you really want to test me against Overlord?”

This twig hardly knew what he was threatening. What an Elite Warrior considered a simple spat often resulted in countless casualties, and in such a case Trepan would likely be collateral damage. The behemoth could only laugh at Trepan’s audacity.

“Try your luck. We’ll see how that goes,” he added. Killmaster didn’t sound all that concerned about it, though. Considering he’d restrained himself from pounding Trepan  into the ground, by his standards he was extremely thoughtful and polite. He doubted that refusing to bow to a twig’s demands would be enough to spark any real conflict with his comrades.

“It’s a good thing you’re scurrying off. You were starting to annoy me.”

“I am not a hobby, I am a teacher apparently till I fulfil his lessons in my occupation and he decides to either offline me or set me free, whichever one he deems to be most favourable to him” Trepan tsked, glowering at the other.

“You’ve said your piece, Killmaster, as funny a quip as it is, may I continue on towards my lesson?”

Now that Killmaster had settled himself in, he wasn’t inclined to move. Damaging Overlord’s things was one matter, but no one was going to stop him from being a contrary pain-in-the-aft. “You can keep on going if you want. There’s always take the long way around. Might be late for that ‘lesson’ of yours, though,” he sneered at him.

“I hope that doesn’t make Overlord too grumpy. That’d be a shame.”

((Working at a library is super amazing because...

One of my co-workers was cleaning the shelves and they found a piece of notebook paper folded up. The top read, ‘Dude, you know you want to open this and read it.’

And then inside was this:

It’s a completely original poem, too. I googled it to see if they were lyrics or anything. Nah, whoever put the note there wrote it completely on their own. They are damn talented. Like WOW.))

It was a luck guess.

Given where he was and how long it took Killmaster to come back just to taunt him when he could have just offline him in the lab or some alleyway. Dragging a bot to a secluded place like this meant only two things and Quark didn’t think Killmaster would destroy a whole lab and alert the city for a quicky when there are plenty of sharewear in the next city so it must be some kind of experiments.

“A taste that I’m sure is nothing but bitter and disgusting like yourself!”

Moving closer to the wall away from the reaching claw Quark glared at the bot not letting him near him. Let the brute come get him, he wasn’t going to go near him willingly!

It took some effort to snag the small scientist, unable to see into the room as he was. The behemoth’s claws scraped against the floor as he searched. In such a confined space, though, Quark could only stay out of reach for so long. Killmaster chittered with delight when he finally felt his prey in his grip.

He pulled him out of the cell, lifting the smaller mecha so they talk optic-to-optic. “You say disgusting like that’s a bad thing,” he replied.

Now that Quark was out of the cell, he would find himself in a hallway lined with other such rooms. All were as blank, barren, and sterile as his own had been. Killmaster began to lumber through it with his prize.

“You’ll learn to like it. If you survive, that is.”
