Meeting new people, decent people, was undoubtedly one of her favourite things about the resort; how strangers from completely different walks of life had a chance to meet people the likely wouldn’t off if it weren’t for being at this place. She smiled at the woman and her repeating of her name, before her look changed to one of feigned shock. “You’ve never been to the spa? That won’t do - you’ll simply have to come and visit me there sometime.” And the flirtation had found it’s way back in. 

“What can I say, chivalry is my middle name.” Callie answered with a giggle. Flirtation came in all flavors; hungry and rich, spicey and hurried, and sweet and playful....and the blonde seemed to imbibe the later. She wanted to make the girl laugh, to twine fingers through her hair and draw laughter from her lips till the sound petered off into wanton moans. “I’ll have to remedy my mistake very very soon. Think you can pencil me in for tomorrow? Do I get to request who I want ...should I just go the receptionist desk and request Surrey with the Sunshine smile?”

“Smart girl.” Harlowe brought the glass back up to her lips, taking a sip before setting the glass down on the bar. Licking the excess wine from her lips, she watched Callie’s fingers inch up just a bit more. Her eyes scanned the room quickly. Whether she was making sure someone wasn’t watching, or that they were watching, she wasn’t sure, but the danger of it sent chills through her. Outside of Eden, she didn’t have time for silly flirting like this, but it was always fun. Especially when the woman she was flirting with looked like Callie. “How about I have some wine, strawberries and cream sent up to my room for us.”

She didn’t let her finger inch up any higher than the blonde’s inner thigh, but oh she teased with purpose, shifting between soft circular strokes and barely there tickles of her nails. “That sounds absolutely heavenly,” Callie answered, mind immediately filled with images of wine glasses and strawberries and cream and inches and inches of bare skin twining together. “Hmm, if I were going to make a dish inspired by you I think I’d go for angel food cook. I bet you taste so sweet.”

Saying nothing at the short lapse before the brunette answered her, Litely merely smirked. “In that case, theoretically, I’d say I’ll come by after I finish work.” She returned, easily keeping their little game going. If this woman had such a way with just words, it was really left to the imagination what she was capable of with time to truly prepare and deliver. Litely only hoped she didn’t disappoint - though if the wicked smile on her pretty lips was any indication, she had a feeling she wouldn’t. The thought of being alone with her in such a popular establishment after closing already had a pleasant thrum spreading through the petite girl’s body, let alone factoring in the promise of being teased until such a state. There were many things she could of said back, and many things that ran through her mind - like telling her she certainly hoped she lived up to her expectations, but she was giving her the benefit of the doubt here; instead she settled for something simple. “I’ll be sure to wear panties I don’t mind getting ruined.” 

Hypotheticals were out the window now, Callie was too busy practically vibrating with excitement. “I’ll be waiting for you,” she answered, the moonlight just barely showing off the grin on her face. Her mind ran ripe with images of the sorts of panties she might wear to dinner, the sorts of panties Callie would most likely be ripping off of her before dessert. There was a high in feeling sparks fly with a new playmate, the kind of high drugs or liquor couldn’t even begin to touch. “And I’ll be sure not to wear any panties at all,” she countered, letting her fingers dance out so her nails could just barely scratch against the bare skin of the other woman’s arm, a teasing promise for the kind of night that would most likely have them leaving scratch marks down each other’s backs.

“Wonderful.” Surrey beamed at the other woman. The day was proving to be getting better and better; her keys (and dignity) had been saved, and by a cheery brunette who was by no means hard on the eyes and who seemed to share in her delight and zest for even the simple things. “That does make me feel better - though I do like how this worked out in both our favours a lot more, because I don’t think you’re the only one benefiting here.” The smile on her face was easy, perhaps even more so than usual. This woman was a charming ray of sunshine to shine brightly beside her own. “It’s nice to meet you, Callie, I’m Surrey.” It was also nice to put a name to the face that had saved her day from a sour turn. Shaking her head slightly in the negative, she hummed. “Nope. I work here, over at the spa.” 

It was moments like this that had Callie calling the resort paradise. Where else was it so easy to be an actual knightess in shining armor to a gorgeous blonde damsel in distress? “Oh I assure you that when it comes to benefits I always endeavor to make sure that all parties make out good,” she flirted with a playful wink. “Surrey.” She committed the name to memory, and the face it belonged to, falling into step beside the blonde as they headed towards the boardwalk. “Well now I’m forced to make a confession,” Callie admitted, slightly overdramatized chagrin on her features. “All the years I’ve worked here and the spa is the one venue I’ve never checked out.”

Exuding effort, she thought, an amused look crossing her face. Exuding effort was one way to think of it. “Chivalrous and you like wine? Darling, we must be a match made in heaven.” Not looking away from her, Harlowe tipped her wine glass toward the brunette’s, the satisfying ‘clink’ echoing between them. She took a sip of her pinot noir, twirling the glass in her hands. “And what boxes are you trying to check off tonight?” Her eyes fell to her knee, where Callie’s hand was resting, before she let her legs fall open a bit, causing her skirt to ride up an inch or so. 

“I never argue with sound observations,” Callie replied with a grin, delight bubbling under her skin. If she was matched with this gorgeous drink of fine in any capacity she’d consider herself a very lucky lady. Harley wielded that wine glass like it was a sword and a beauty pageant crown all at once, an awe striking combination of grace and authority over one’s body language. “There were a few boxes earlier this evening,” she answered, voice going husky as she watched those gorgeous legs fall open a bit. Did her fingers answer by inching forward just a little? Hell yes they did. Callie couldn’t speak for the blonde, but a little public foreplay always got her motor running. “Now there’s just one box. And it involves you. Mainly spending the rest of the evening soaking you in for as long as you allow me.”

Impatience was sexy on the other woman, and Callie loved making her frustrated, loved making her beg, loved having her wind up tight before she even got down to business. From his new spot on the couch, he could get a closer look at all this food. It sort of felt like Thanksgiving without the turkey and all the family members, that’s how he knew it was bound to be fun -not that Nelson didn’t like family gatherings. He was just a glutton. At least, if the game sucked, he’d be pretty happy to have a full stomach by the end of it. “Come sit down” he offered, patting the spot next to him “you’re gonna miss the beginning, and by the way, who are you rooting for?”

“I have complete faith in you,” Callie answered, still fussing over presentation until Nelson called to her. “Sorry, sorry, I have actually missed games in the past cause I’m too busy playing food hostess. You’re responsible for reigning me in.” She pulled herself out of chef mood and moved to take her place on the couch beside Nelson. “Remind me whose playing...I normally root for the underdog but work has had me so crazed I haven’t kept track of the teams the way I normally do.” Callie let her body relax into the cushions, reaching out to grab one of the pigs in a blanket and taking a nibble of the corner. “Whose your team?”

The term ‘panty dropper’ came to mind as Litely listened to the woman speak, she was sure that’s what she must be if she talked to all the ladies this way. The words thoughtfully spoken were conclusively different from what she was used to hearing, though perhaps that just added to the magic of the imagery. While she was arguably not one for soft or sweet, she couldn’t deny the coil she felt, be it from the small details noted or from the idea of a slow, burning seduction. Maybe it was just the idea of playing a charade for a night. “Well, that certainly sounds like a fantastic start.” Was all she said, licking her lips as she look up at Callie from where she’d been focused on the ground as they walked. “And, theoretically, when do you see this grand seduction taking place?”

Callie was almost distracted from answering, rather hypnotized by the way the brunette licked her lips. Slightly late she considered the question. Now, now was ample opportunity to woo the pretty girl, but that would be too expected. And if she was going to be extra she wanted time to prepare. She was hardly in the right outfit for a seductive night out. “Hmmm, theoretically....tomorrow night? If you were free?” Ideas began to blossom and her lips curled with wicked promise. “I work at Garden Variety . . . I’m thinking you and me, after hours, restaurant to ourselves. I’ll cook you something fantastic and dedicate the evening to teasing you in every way possible till your clothes feel like an utter offence to your very being.”

Eyebrow quirked in amusement at the other woman’s way of thinking, Surrey couldn’t help the amused grin that twitched its way onto her lips. “You sound like quite the expert on such matters, I think I’ll follow your lead.” Her hand moved to her pocket once more, sliding her keys in with a reassuring pat, as if to make sure they stayed put. Satisfied - or hopeful - they would, she gestured her arm for her companion to lead the way. “In my books, nothing says ‘celebratory’ like ice cream does. Though I may have to follow it with a "you avoided disaster this time” drink later.“  

“Ice cream and a drink? I think that sounds more than doable.” The blonde was pretty, not just in a physical way but she had a go with the flow ready to laugh vibe about her that Callie wanted to sink into for the rest of the day. “if it makes you feel better, though, this resort ensures that all disasters are never too disastrous. You would have reclaimed your keys eventually, I just get the benefit of your company now. Yay me.” Callie clasped her hands in front of her, a slight bounce of glee in her steps. “I’m Callie . . . are you a guest here?”

She had to admit, she was endeared by Callie. Intrigued even. She didn’t seem to hide what she was thinking, which was a welcome escape from all the businessmen she had to work with. While she was slightly shocked by the other woman taking her hand, she tried not to show it. Afterall, the whole point of the island was to lose all inhibitions and pretenses. Harlowe shook her wariness away and let Callie lead her through the crowds. “Oh, how chivalrous, thank you.” Harlowe sat down on the barstool, turning just slightly so their knees brushed more than was really necessary. “Chivalrous and observant, I see.” As the bartender walked up, she ordered a glass of pinot noir for herself before facing Callie again. “Yes, this is my first time here. I moved to Georgia about three months ago, and I just heard that this was the place to be to de-stress from life.”

“What can I say, I like people. I think they’re worth exuding effort upon.” When the bartender came to get their drinks she let Harley go first before smiling at the bartender. “Hi Tommy, surprise me with a wine I haven’t had already this week.” When Harley turned to face her it allowed more skin to brush and Callie didn’t mind a bit, electrically focused on the blonde, one hand coming out to lightly rest upon the other woman’s knee. “I was in Atlanta for about eight months. Georgia was one of my favorite places in the south, the heat can be such a killer though.” Their drinks arrived, Callie’s glass some form of red she knew she’d like. Gripping the glass stem delicately she offered it out in cheers. “To de-stressing from life,” she mused with a tilt of her head. “Wine is always the first step to that, and good company is the second. So we’ve checked two boxes off your list.”

The sun had set for a while now, but Cheryl couldn’t put herself to sleep. Her mind drifted off to unpleasant territory and caused her heart to ache with the reminder of the moment that destroyed the future she thought she’d have. Determined not to let these thoughts haunt her during her time on the Isle, the redhead went to the sink, washed her face with cold water, then wore her bikini and headed to the pool. She sat by the edge and sank her legs in the water. She was prepared to dive in, when she felt another presence approach. “Hey,” she turned and greeted them with a flirty smile. “You couldn’t sleep either?”

First of all Callie was always a fan of a nice bikini clad form. Secondly, mmm, the sunlight soaked into strands of red hair so beautifully. She looked like she was setting fire to the very hair around her and Callie was more than interested in being caught up in the flames. She’d been so half asleep but unable to commit to slumber that she’d stumbled out of her room without a bathing suit, clad instead in a light silk cami and a pair of cotton shorts. “I could not,” she answered. “And if it means I get to sit at a pool with a pretty girl like you then I say I am not at all mad about it.”

Adrian had learned there was one thing and one thing only that could get him out of a particularly bad case of writer’s block, and that was relaxing his mind. He could think of a few things that’d do the work, but alcohol was the readily available option and he found his way to the Tulips Bar, ordering himself a drink. He was on his second glass and already much more relaxed when he spotted a stranger by their lonesome. They might’ve been waiting for someone, or simply enjoying a quiet evening, but he was curious and, frankly, maybe a good conversation could wake his imagination.

Asking the bartender for a second of whatever they were having, he made his way over to the stranger. “Mind if I join you? I was never too good at quiet evenings,” a white lie, naturally, but he doubted the stranger didn’t know he was simply looking for company. 

She could leave.

Leaving was an option.

The second Callie heard that familiar voice she was distinctly aware that she could avoid this whole mess. At least for tonight....maybe completely if he was only staying for a few days. She could slip out of her seat, disappear into the crowd and venture home and he’d never know how close she had been sitting. It was the smart thing to do, the easy thing to do, and Callie normally chose the easy road when it came to face ghosts from her past.

But the casual tenor of Adrian’s words stirred the anger inside of her, the whirlwind she’d thought she’d tied down with lead and boxed away. So she set her empty rum and coke glass on the bar and grinned, half standing on the rungs of the chair legs so that she could peak around the woman her ex was addressing. “I can second that, sweetheart. He hates quiet evenings. But don’t let him drink too much cause when he’s real wasted he thinks hes a rockstar.” Her eyes narrowed, voice poisonous. “Looking for a new muse, Mr. Walker?”

It wasn’t often that Litely was thrown by something someone said, and yet this beautiful woman who had swooped into the night, quite literally, had managed just that. Her featured stayed masked, however, at most she eyed the other curiously, head tilting slightly with the action. It was safe to say she was intrigued, both by the words spoken and the person who had spoken them. In the past, no one had made particularly much effort to seduce her, and the words reaching her ears were certainly stirring something in her belly at the prospect, be it just from something besides the norm or the conviction with which they were spoken, she wasn’t sure. “Is that so?” She asked, her own eyebrow arching. “And how, pray tell, would you go about this slow seduction?” 

“Hmm, well first,” Callie mused, fingers playing with the edges of her own hair, pinky playing along her collarbone. “I’d take you somewhere just loud enough that we’d have to sit close together to hear each other speak. Good liquor, good food, maybe I’d make you something from scratch, but either way it would be something messy, so that I’d have an excuse to lean in and wipe a stray piece of some kind of morsel off the corner of your lip, let my fingers linger just a little bit too long. Maybe I’d ask you to dance, cradle you against my palms, massage my fingertips into the small of your back and run my other hand through your hair, rock against you slowly, just barely graze my lips against your neck.” She grinned, biting at her lower lip. “But that’s just an idea.”

“Oh, yay!” Surrey exclaimed as the keys were revealed, a bounce in her own step as she took a step forward to retrieve them. Thanks to whatever deity was on her side, as well as the kind stranger in front of her, it seemed she wouldn’t have to worry about being considered a blonde stereotype today. “Hm, maybe just some of my pride,” she joked, flashing a grateful grin at the other woman for both finding her keys and offering further help.

If nothing else was lost and she couldn’t play knightess to a pretty blonde’s damsel in distress, then it was clear she was going to need to think up another way to keep the conversation going. “Ah pride is easily restored with a delicious distraction,” she mused, one hand on her hip. “There’s some really great snack places along the edge of the beach. Let’s get you a celebratory “Keys aren’t lost forever” treat. What’s your poison? Water ice, ice cream, french fries, pretzel?”

“Got it!” Nelson began transferring what was on the left side of the wagon to the freezer. All the while, he kept glancing at the TV to make sure he wouldn’t miss the beginning of the game. There would probably be no surprise about the winner here but there was nothing like yelling at the TV and at players who didn’t even suspect his existence; it was like a family tradition. “You know what?” he asked as he closed the freezer “I’m just sad you weren’t around when I was a teenager. There never seemed to be enough food for me but I want to make up for lost time. What did you make?”

Callie let out a laugh. “You are not the first person to say that to me,” she answered, bending and twisting as she began to settle all her main dishes on the coffee table. “So there’s a spinach and artichoke dip that I put in sourdour bread which i kinda turned into a footbowl shapped bowl. There’s pretzel dog bites, there’s little mini pita pizzas in the shape of footballs, there’s a football shaped five layer cake, obviously. Buffalo wings. There’s a fruit plater you eat out of a makeshift helmet I carved from a watermelon, football shaped zucchini fritters, mashed potato and bacon pinwheels, ooo and football shaped oreo truffles.” It was the whole appeal of sports of Callie. She didn’t truly understand what was happening on the screen most of the time, but god she loved an excuse to cook for people, to share moments and smiles and good food. “You’re going to be left with a lot of leftovers, I know it’s a terrible burden but I trust you to carry it.”
