Mia fled to her room picking up her first aid kit before residing back into the living room as she sat on her coffee table, right across her bloody boyfriend. She was sort of disappointed that he continued on with his fighting despite knowing that she disapprove of this sort of behavior, who would want to see their loved one all bloody and clearly in so much pain? “You’re not fine, Tyler. You wouldn’t be wincing as you moved your head if you weren’t hurt, honestly. I hate seeing you like this, do you really have to fight?” She got her needle and the metal string to stitch up his wound by his cheek bones, it was practically gaping and needed to be stitched.
Letting out a soft sigh Tyler looked at the girl in front of him, the look on her face, her disappointment, her worry, everything, he hated it. Placing a soft hand on her thigh he shrugged slowly, “It’s the only thing I’m good enough at to make money, it’s the only chance Paige has at a decent future. So, yes, I have to.” Seeing the needle being taken out of the first aid kid Tyler swerved his head away from her. “Woah, woah, what’s that for? Punches I can handle, needles? No. Just, put a band aid on it or something will ya’?”
she nodded her head as she spoke, admiring the fact that not much had changed about the boy in front of her. “i guess after enough people dying it just seems– normal? like, obviously not normal but you know what i mean–” and then she stopped mid sentence, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear, nodding her head as he suggested going elsewhere. “honestly, i’d love that. i can’t put up with crying anymore. i don’t even know why i’m crying anymore, you know that feeling? it’s just like it’s a constant stream.” she smiled a little bit, licking her lips. “do you know a place?”
“I know the perfect place” he smiled at her and lead the way to his car, the ride wasn’t long, filled with small talk and the feeling of familiarity. After only a few minutes Dylan pulled into the driveway of his parent’s home. A smirk settling on his face, reaching into his duffle bag in the back Dylan pulled out a bottle of Jack before getting out of the car. “Come on, it’s right around back.” Heading to the backyard Dylan went straight to the treehouse, “I figured, what better place than where we snuck alcohol and ended up puking after a glass and a half.” A small laugh fell from his lips thinking of the memory, he wasn’t popular in school, but those small moments where better than any high school party.
“okay, it’s a date.” bryn said this somewhat sarcastically, although it wasn’t at all supposed to come across as a sarcastic remark. “but just so you know i’m totally gonna fucking dominate at mario kart. i always win. always.”
Taken aback, Noah scoffed at her, and shook his head, “keep dreaming, there is absolutely no way your winning streak is going to continue tonight.” Nudging her playfully, “I can do rainbow road, drunk, with my eyes closed and not fall off once.”
as he looked around the house, noah felt so out of place. not only at the fact that he had actually wanted to come back and help max, but also at the fact that he had actually followed through. he’d never done something like this and wasn’t completely sure if it would continue after tonight. in all honesty, the thought kind of repulsed him. “i was just at another party and all i could think about was coming back to help.” he cringed as he admitted it, shaking his head as he did so. “so no– i don’t have somewhere else to be.”
Her face softened as she listen to him talk, not sure if she should believe him or not, yet here he was cleaning up, so part of it must have been true. “Well you didn’t have to do that. I mean thanks, but really, you didn’t have to.” Fiddling with the rim of her cup, her gaze fell, not sure of where to go from here. Now that her buzz begin wearing off she was much more aware of the situation, including the sick feeling in her stomach. “Hey, uh- how long am I supposed to feel like I’m about to puke my guts out?”
isabel couldn’t help but to roll her eyes as she looked over at nathan, a sheepish grin on her face. “see, the thing is that you can’t even name a time when you’ve been right. so what exactly does that prove?” she watched closely as he pulled out the camera, and let out a laugh before he told her to say something nice. “hey lila! this is your first– or is it your second? shit–” she ran her fingers through her hair, shrugging. “well, anyways– if you’re watching this nathan and i haven’t absolutely failed at raising you.” she cleared her throat again, realizing that literally everything she was saying was wrong. “anyways! merry christmas! nathan’s gonna talk now and hopefully not miss this up more than i already have.” she reached out to grab the camera from the curly haired boy, motioning for him to hand it over. “come on– here we go. smile.”
Scrunching up his face, Nathan had to hold back the laughter that was trying to push it’s way out. “That was awful” he said through a breathy laugh, “like actually the worst thing I’ve ever seen, you even swore on camera. Wow, I’m saving this forever.” A smile wasn’t hard to give when he was already laughing at Isabel’s sad attempt at a message. “Lila, my number one girl! It’s you’re first christmas, and obviously we are doing amazing at raising you, Isabel clearly doesn’t know what she’s talking about. But what else is new? Anyway, your first Christmas is looking pretty great, the lights are perfect, and Isabel’s cookies aren’t half bad.” He smirked and bit the head off the snowman he was eating before. “So merry christmas love bug!”

It was late at night and rather, she was just so tired from her day at work that she kinda wishes that she just stayed at home. She loved her job, but being a doctor in the hospital requires a lot of her time, and the rare times she could sleep at home. She would take the opportunity any time, though when she woke from her short sleep, she was already in a sour mood until she came up to the door to see her boyfriend all beaten up and bruised. “You do not look fine, Tyler!” As shock as she was, she didn’t know how badly he could get with these kinds of fights.It wasn’t a pretty sight to see a busted lip, a bruised eye, nor the cuts on his face. She lets out a little sigh, trying to figure out what she could do at least with his the bruising and the cuts. Mia then slips her hand in his, dragging his ass to the couch. “Stay.”
Following her obediently to the couch Tyler sat and shook his head at her. “Mia, I promise you, it’s not that bad, it barely even hurts.” Even as he said it, Tyler could feel himself cringe by the slight movement of his head. “Aren’t you even going to ask me if I won?” He knew she worried, he didn’t blame her either, and in a weird way he kind of like that she did, at least someone cared. “I’ll tell you anyway, I did. Worth all this, completely fine and pretty much painless mess right?” It wasn’t. Tyler knew it and he knew Mia knew as well. One of these days he was going to get too hurt, so hurt Mia wouldn’t be able to fix him up. “Seriously babe, I’m fine okay?”

It’s not like he did it for fun, it was that he found some sick pleasure in smashing another guy’s face in and it sure as hell wasn’t because he found some release in getting his own face punched in. No. Tyler did it for the money. For some reason fighting was something he became good at and when he won the money he got was worth far more than the blood and bruises that took up space on his features. His sister deserved more than he had, his sister deserved college and anything else she dared to dream, but that didn’t come cheap. Tonight he had won, but it came at a cost, a cost you could clearly see on his face. Approaching the other’s door Tyler knocked softly waiting for that sweet relief to open the door, his safe place. When the door was finally opened he gave the girl a weak smile, knowing his looks were of much concern. “I uh- you know- pirates. Got a hook to the face I’m pretty sure, or maybe it was someone’s peg leg? Either way, I swear it’s not as bad as it looks.”

the bar that meredith normally went too after her days was more much crowded than normal which was something she found odd because it was a tuesday night. she took a seat at the bar and ordered her usual, downing one of them within ten minutes. the man next to her continued to brush up and down her arm and sooner than later, mer snapped. “don’t fucking touch me, man.” the fact that she said that obviously caused a scene because soon, there was another person coming over her way, a grin on their face.
Amra saw the whole thing, she was watching even before the other girl had snapped at the man beside her. It was hard for the blonde not to notice a girl like that. Walking over after noticing the man clearly not backing away, Amra gave the man a smirk. “You think you might actually have a chance with her? Funny. You’re not her type, even if she wasn’t spoken for and even if she had a remote interest in men in the first place.” It was bold, there was no saying if the girl beside her was indeed straight or not. It didn’t matter to Amra though, she still got the grungy looking guy to back off.
the brunette smiled at the mention of his old nickname for her, looking up and shrugging. “i think i’m doing alright. kind of depressing circumstances for seeing you again, huh? how about you? are you doing okay?” she cleared her throat, nearly cringing at the small talk that the two of them were doing. if you knew arden at all, you knew she wasn’t one for small talk. and although there wasn’t necessarily a lot of things to talk about since they hadn’t seen each other in years, a part of her just wanted something else.
“I’m alright, still a little shocked, but alright. Guess working in a hospital has made me a little numb to the whole death thing.” Clearing his throat a bit, his gaze fell to the ground. The last time he saw her he was packing his bags for med school, He’d thought about calling her, wanting to see her more than anything when school got tough or his parents were on his back again. His eyes moved upward once again, his hand scratching the back of his head. “Hey, uh- would you wanna skip whatever depressing luncheon thing they have planned and just get a drink? Catch up a bit maybe?”
bryn glanced up at the taller boy, a grin on her face. “you’re really fucking cute.” she murmured, pressing a kiss to his lips and then pulling back. “do we still wanna do something? i mean– it’s only, what? nine? we can still do something, right?”
“Yeah, I know, what can I say? Cute is just in my genes.” Noah smiled into the kiss, letting her pull away a bit but still keeping his arms wrapped around her waist. “I’d say that’s the perfect time for takeout, beer and me beating your cute ass in mario kart.”
“i am here to clean up.” noah told the girl, hoping she was oblivious to the fact that he had came back to check up on her. “and i don’t steal, babe. that isn’t very me.” he began to make his way around the downstairs area, picking up the red cups and littered beer bottles that had made themselves apparent throughout the night. “i just didn’t wanna leave you with some huge ass mess that was my fault, okay? that’s it.”
“First of all, don’t call me babe. Second of all, if that is the case and all you’re here to is clean then you won’t mind me staying down here would you?” Sitting down on the couch Max took a sip of water, raising her eyebrows at him over the glass. “I still don’t understand why you feel the need to do this.” It seemed out of character for Noah, not that she knew him well, but she knew him enough. “Don’t you have some other party to go to anyway? You sure seemed to want to get over there earlier.”
isabel was completely taken aback as the two of them stood in one of the side hallways of the large house, her doe eyes looking up at nathan as she shook her head. “if they didn’t think we could do it– they wouldn’t have put us down. you get that, right? it isn’t all about you. it’s about lila and lila needs somebody who’s always going to be there for her.” she ran her fingers through her blonde hair, her eyes closed for a split second before she opened them again. “you don’t have to do it. i will. we’ll be fine. if you don’t want to do it it’s never going to change, right?”
“I get that okay? I’m not as self absorbed as you seem to think I am. My point is we couldn’t even get through a single date how are we going to get through eighteen years of raising a kid together?” Nathan wasn’t going to admit it but she was right, if they couldn’t do it, they wouldn’t have been written into the will. When she spoke again Nathan shook his head at her. “I’m not going to have you do this alone. We were both put down, so we’ll both do it. We’ll figure it out, they have baby manuals and stuff, it’ll be fine. Now let’s go tell the lawyer guy and hope he didn’t hear us arguing and decide we’re not fit.”
