Well with Sirius thinking that Hufflepuff was a Slytherin we can probably assume he isn’t very good at this game.

Lunch | Remus and Marlene
Remus rolled his eyes, “Mar is delusional Ma. She thinks she has to match everyone up, even though she clearly doesn’t” Hope smiled, “I think it’s sweet. Why don’t you ask this girl out? If Marlene thinks she likes you I’m sure she has a reason.”
Remus smiled at Marlene. Even when he thought she talked too much he knew she only meant well. He was happy to have friends who were so liked by his parents.
"See Remm, even you're Mom agrees with me." She joked. But she let the topic fall. "So how's Mr. Lupin?" She asked. It'd always found it weird to call him anything other than Mr. Lupin. Years of misogynistic pureblood training has left her unable to call an adult male by anything but their last name.
She took a few bites of her sandwich. Remus and her had started coming here in their third year. They'd met to buy a present for Lily for her birthday and found the little bakery, after that every summer found them snaking on something in the little bakery. Letters between the two were often arranging their next visit. Because of this the two had grown close, even during the school years it wasn't rare to find the two sitting alone talking quietly about something or other.
Lunch | Remus and Marlene
"You talking about Dorcas Meadowes? That friend of Marlene’s. What does she have to do with you Remus?" Hope asked taking a sip of the tea she ordered. "Nothing ma. Mar is just joking with me."
"Well you are welcome anytime." Hope smiled. Remus stayed quite starting to eat his sandwich. Things with Marlene were always comfortable but she was always crazy honest. The girl seemed to have very few secrets and was the only reason his mother knew about half the stuff that happened at Hogwarts.
"No really Hope, I'm going to hook those two up." She told her ignoring the way Remus had gone quiet. "They would be perfect together. Both just as booky and both just as stubborn." She grinned. "And they both manage to take care of me." She told Hope. She was sure she was embaressing the heck out of Remus but he'd get over it. "Remus likes to say he's not good for her, or whatever, but you just wait. I'll do it yet."
"Thank you." She thanked the woman. Marlene shot a look over at Remus who didn't look too pleased with Marlene's rantings. She decided she'd stop and let it go, well until they were back at Hogwarts. Then she'd start her full plan.
Lunch | Remus and Marlene
Remus shook his head with a smile, “We all know your in love with somebody else. Wouldn’t want our kids to get the wrong idea about love.” Remus joked.
"It seems that everyone is thinking about becoming an Auror." Hope smiled, "It seems to be all James and Sirius have been talking about lately. I can’t believe you are all about to graduate. It seems like just yesterday I was dropping Remus off at the train station for the first time."
Marlene glared at him. "I have no idea what you are talking about." She said sticking her tongue out at him. "But you're right. You and Doe...well I can't get away from that."
Marlene nodded. "Sirius and I have talked about it since we were little. It just always seemed like such an adventure, and now it's necessary." She smiled at Hope. "But we'll come visit you. Who else is going to make me delicious baked treats?" She asked. She did always love going with the boys to Remus'. Hope was so sweet and it was nice being able to spend time with the boys without Lily giving her the stink eye.
Lunch | Remus and Marlene
"If you are looking for a husband Remus is still single." Hope teased a smile on her face. Remus just shook his head. He knew his mother loved Marlene but then again she was really the only one of Remus’ female friends she had met.
Remus looked at Marlene smiling at her comment. It didn’t matter that he disagreed with it, he still found it funny. So what Marlene was more of a jeans over skirt person. That didn’t make her any less lady like. “You always look beautiful hun. I’m sure she is just set in her ways.” Hope smiled turning to their server as the sandwiches came out.
Marlene grinned brightly. "Remmey! We have your mother's approval! Now all that's left is to run off and get hitched and have loads of babies." She told him nudging his shoulder. This was the her favorite thing about being with Remus, there was no awkward. She could say nearly anything and they would just smile it off.
"Well thank you." Marlene said blushing a little bit, which was always surprising, because Marlene's ego almost matched Sirius'. "Set in her ways is an understatement. Jeez sometimes I wish I was muggleborn." She said groaning with her head back. "But it's alright, I've got school now and after that Auror training." She said with a confidence in her voice.
Remus shuffled in his chair sitting up straight and running his hands through his hair. “The infamous McKinnon parties are always the talk of the town. Of course you hate them.” Remus smiled. “I’m sure they only mean well.” Hope commented making his smile grow at her lie. She always had good intentions but he knew she didn’t completely believe what she said. Remus watched her eyes travel down to their bags. “I believe so.” Hope smiled, “How is yours going?” she asked keeping most of the conversation. “I saw the corner shop has some new robes in. Very high quality.”
Marlene smiled and shook her head. “it’s not the parties so much I hate, it’s the people that attend them. I mean, they weren’t so bad when Sirius and I would hide behind the piano and fall asleep.” She joked. “But now I’m all on my own. Regulus barely even looks at me. So I’m either getting glared at or someone is trying to find me a husband.” She joked. Marlene was different than Sirius in that way, she wasn’t nearly as bitter. “But It could always be worse.” She allowed.
"I think I have almost everything. I’m not in any need of robes. Mom is always buying that sort of thing. She doesn’t think I dress like a lady." She rolled her eyes at the look Remus shot her. "Well just because I don’t doesn’t mean she has to say it."
