Motha Goose and the Funky Ducks played their final show last Friday at Cous Cous. I have a humble list of favorite Richmond bands and these dudes were on there -including Diamond Center, Zac H. and the Jungle Beat, Little Smoke, and maybe one or two others. Gerard is moving to New York or L.A. or Australia (there’s some confusion on where he is headed), but the main motha goose will sorely be missed on this end, a long with his band. If you hadn’t had a chance to check out this 6+ piece band and all of their funk glory, it was a good time while it lasted. I think someone recorded video from this night and will post it here if I come across it. The first time I saw the Funky Ducks was at Cellar Door, RIP to both.
I was in a soul band for a shot time with 6 great friends! loved it. and thanks especially to everyone who came out and made it all the more enjoyable!
