The Doctor wheezed and coughed as the alcohol burned his throat, at once smoky and sweet. Chloe had insisted on going out for a celebratory drink after her return to the TARDIS, and he’d forgotten just how well she could put it away. She was already slumped on the bar, giggling at one of the bartenders. Apparently he looked like a Yeti Louis C.K.

"Come on," he chuckled, standing up and letting her lean on him. "I think that’ll do for tonight."

It wasn’t far back to the TARDIS. Chloe collapsed on him just as they got there, mumbling into his shoulder. He cracked a smile and gently guided her into one of the chairs. “It is nice to have you back, Chloe.”
