everything is fine, just don't ever think about january lovro who believed that love wasn't meant for him, and that suppressing his feelings and his own identity was the only way to survive in this society. look at him now, at his first pride with his boyfriend and his friends, with pink hair and the smile of someone who has finally stopped hiding
hikes are very good yes but a deluxe hike is when you are a accompanied by a freak with niche nature knowledge. they’re like omg stop there’s a horned valerian varmint beetle here and then you both get to crouch down and look at a bug like :)

The Physics of Attention, Part II: The Extinction of Invisible Things
The Extinction of Invisible Things
The universe does not forget.
It simply ceases to illuminate.
We imagine attention as though its greatest power were the ability to reveal what already exists. We praise it for its concentration, its discipline, its capacity to bring hidden things into view. Yet this has never been its deepest authority. Attention does not merely reveal a world. It determines which worlds survive.
Every act of sustained attention is an act of selection.
Not only for what will become more real.
For what will quietly disappear.
The mind resembles no library where every thought waits patiently upon its shelf. It resembles an ecosystem whose inhabitants compete for the finite climate of consciousness. Every repeated glance alters the weather. Every recurring thought shifts the seasons. Every devotion changes the conditions under which the invisible species of the soul struggle to remain alive.
Nothing inside us survives by right.
Everything survives by nourishment.
Wonder dies exactly as forests die.
Not through violence.
Through neglect.
No one awakens one morning incapable of awe. They simply stop giving it sufficient attention. They hurry past sunsets. They outgrow questions without answering them. Familiarity settles over existence like dust until amazement, deprived of its nourishment, quietly disappears from the ecosystem that once sustained it.
The extinction is almost never noticed.
Only its absence.
Compassion obeys the same law.
Hatred is not merely stronger because it is louder. It becomes stronger because it is fed more consistently. Every remembered insult becomes another meal. Every imagined revenge another season of abundance. Mercy, receiving less attention each year, begins reproducing more slowly. Eventually the inner landscape reaches a point where forgiveness feels unnatural, not because it has become impossible, but because its habitat no longer exists.
Attention has rewritten the climate.
Entire virtues vanish this way.
So do entire realities.
There are people who have not seen beauty for years while walking through beautiful places every day. There are others who no longer perceive goodness except as manipulation, sincerity except as strategy, silence except as emptiness. Nothing external compelled these disappearances. Their attention gradually selected one kind of universe over another until every incompatible form of life quietly became extinct.
This is why two people can inhabit the same afternoon while living in different worlds.
One notices only threat.
Another notices only opportunity.
A third notices grief.
A fourth grace.
The sunlight falls equally upon them all, yet each walks through an ecosystem cultivated by years of invisible selection. Reality has not divided. Attention has.
We therefore misunderstand blindness.
The most consequential blindness has nothing to do with the eyes.
It is ecological.
The extinction of realities that once lived abundantly inside a person.
Children move through a universe crowded with living things adults often believe no longer exist. Mystery inhabits ordinary stones. Time stretches into continents. Possibility breeds effortlessly in every direction. Nothing magical has departed between childhood and age. The climate changed. Attention selected efficiency over wonder, certainty over curiosity, possession over encounter, until the older ecosystem could no longer sustain what once flourished naturally.
We call this maturity.
Often it is only ecological collapse.
Civilizations obey the same hidden law.
Whatever receives collective attention acquires the conditions necessary for survival. Whatever is ignored begins disappearing long before anyone announces its death. Languages vanish. Rituals vanish. Forms of courtesy vanish. Entire moral imaginations disappear not because someone defeated them in argument but because generation after generation quietly withdrew the nourishment of sustained attention.
Nothing is murdered faster than what is no longer noticed.
The tragedy is that extinction rarely announces itself.
The final bird sings without knowing it is the last.
The final act of genuine patience occurs without applause.
The final honest conversation ends without ceremony.
Only later does an age discover that something irreplaceable has vanished from its interior landscape.
By then the climate has already changed.
Yet the same law that permits extinction also permits restoration.
Not resurrection through force.
Repopulation through attention.
A neglected virtue does not return because we admire it. It returns because we feed it. One act of reverence. Another moment of silence. Another deliberate refusal to hate. Another sustained encounter with truth. At first nothing appears different. Then, almost imperceptibly, life returns to ground once thought permanently barren. Ecosystems recover exactly as they collapsed: gradually, invisibly, through countless small conditions becoming favorable again.
Attention has always been the climate beneath consciousness.
Everything living inside us breathes its air.
Perhaps this is the oldest responsibility carried by a human being. Not merely to decide what deserves attention, but to recognize that every devotion is also an extinction event. Whatever we repeatedly nourish quietly survives. Whatever we consistently neglect slowly disappears, not only from memory but from possibility itself.
When the final inventory of a life is taken, the deepest question may not be what occupied the center of your universe. It may be something quieter and more devastating. After all the years your attention patiently cultivated one reality above every other, what beautiful forms of life were no longer alive inside you to witness it?

Hey, did you know archive.org has a bunch of free 90s shows you can stream?
The problem is finding them, since no one's organized them all in one place with covers and episode info. I'm trying to fix that with my new website.
It's in BETA right now, and all the content was just added today, so I've barely scratched the surface of what's out there.
Let me know what you think and what kind of shows/movies you want to see!

We now have a Watch Party with chat feature now live HERE
You can create a live tv channel with our existing library. The channel is time syned so whoever is watching with you will share the moment!
It also works with youtube links and archive.org links.
