I got a harsh reminder last night, why I never talk to people on this app, unless they reach out to me first.

Last week I have a mutual reach out to me in my DMs. Just general “how was your day”, “where are you from” chit chats. Due to time zone difference this conversation went for a couple of days, maybe 10 or so messages.

I thought I was talking to a different mutual, as they both have the same profile picture. Stupid me never clicked on their blog to check. I just assumed it was this other mutual I was talking to.

Anyway, I eventually realised I wasn’t talking to the person I thought I was talking to, and I had a bit of a laugh at myself. A few days later, the person I thought I was talking to, liked one of my posts. It reminded me of what I did, so I thought it would be funny to tell them the dumb mistake I made. So I reached out them with a friendly “you’ll never guess what I did” kind of message.

This person and I have been mutuals for quite some time. All I received back was a rude message and she blocked me….. 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Go figure…. I know we both have a lot of mutuals in common, so there is a good chance a lot of you know who this person is.

Anyway, just a friendly reminder to not be a fuckwit. It doesn’t cost anything to be kind.
