i am going to be dropping all threads on this account. it is just going to be what is easiest for me. a lot of stress has pooled up around my life and around this blog. so it would be awesome if you guys were understanding about this.
this saying: if our characters had some sort of relationship together, we can still keep that relationship and i would LOVE to write with you more.
so, any one of my followers can, like this for a starter!!
“Okay,” she piped, smiling brightly. “I won’t bug you, promise. Um… do you want my number? In case you have to work late or something happens or anything? I mean, I would hope nothing bad happens, but it’s better safe than sorry. And if you wanna stay late, then that’s fine with me.”
“I uhm...That would be great, actually.” He fumbles into his pocket, pulling out his phone and holding it over to the other. “Just...You can put your number in there, if that’s okay?” He caught eye of the time as he handed over his phone, six-fifteen. He had to be there in fifteen minutes. He was always running late now a days.
She smiles and slips past him, hands clasped tightly around the strap of her bag. “No problem. I’m not a particularly busy person, anyway.” Jessie listens intently to his comments, making mental notes, and then laughing gently. “You’re fine. Concerned parents have a tendency to ramble, anyway. It’s nice to see when people care. But, honestly, mister, you don’t have to worry. I’ll take care of Mia. And, if she likes Disney as much as I do, we’ll get along fine.”
“Good, good.” He paused, smiling at the other. He always felt awkward in situations like this, didn’t know how to converse with others, especially when he thought that the other person was pretty adorable. He cleared his throat, shifting a bit. “I’m Eric, by the way. My number is on notepad on the kitchen counter. If you need anything, or have any questions just text me...call me too if you really need to. I’m just going to a wedding photo shoot so it shouldn’t take too long. I won’t stay late for the reception.”
She’s wearing an oversized sweater and jeans - nothing too girly, but nothing too guy-ish, either - when she knocks on the door of her newest job. Jessie, naturally, can’t remember how many children she’s babysitting, or how old, or what to expect, but she’s more than happy to handle whatever may come her way. So, when the other person answers the door, she rocks back and forth, smiling happily. “Hey. I’m Jessie. I’m the baby sitter.”
Gosh, he’s running late. He has a wedding shoot to get to, he knows he’s late too. Part of him doesn’t care enough, he wants to stay home with his daughter. But he has to go to work. When he hears the knock on the door, his head perks up and he smiles, coming to the door. “Hi Jesse, thank you so much for coming at such a late notice.” Eric says, stepping aside to let the other walk in. “Mia is just in her room right now. Uhm...There’s a list of things she can eat on the fridge...she really likes the movie Peter Pan right now, that and any disney movie really...” He pauses, running a hand through his hair, “I’m sorry, I’m rambling a bit aren’t I?”
“ah, you’re the parent?” ravi shifted around uncomfortably, rubbing the back of his neck. “i’m good with kids, so i baby- sit. more fulfilling than working in my family’s office all day, at least.” he glanced around before looking at eric once again. “so where’s the kiddo?”
well shit, this was a little bit awkward. he nodded his head slowly, chuckling softly. “this is funny, isn’t it?” he sighed, moving to the side, gesturing for ravi to enter his apartment. “come in, please. uhm...mia is in her bedroom, right now. coloring, i think.”
“ Right, yeah. That photographer job of yours. Run your own business ? Is it fun, being your own boss ? Bein’ able to have the last say in things . ”
Purses her lips in an attempt to find an answer. Probably looks like a fucking dork, but she’s THE LAST person on the planet to care about that. His question was a god damn good one, however. Leaves her chewing on her lip too.
“ Only thing I can come up with ‘s gotta be my family. Worth everythin’ to me. Can’t be priced. If we go by materialistic, there’s not much of value here actually. “
It’s sort of exciting to listen to fancy people talk about their city lives. Turns out he’s not as fancy as the big spenders though. They’re bad. SNOTTY AS HELL. or maybe it’s just her not rich enough for them. They have this way of looking down at one when they are ‘slumming’. thought makes her clench the stump of the cigarette a bit harder. Brought right back to reality when he says daughter. he has a kid ? how old is the guy ? Looks no more than a few years older than her, really.
“ You have a daughter ? Wow, how old is she ? “
“Yeah, yeah it’s nice being my own boss. It’s comforting in a way, making your own decisions and things. Can get overwhelming though.”
He nods his head as the other replies, a soft smile tugging at his lips. The way she talked about her family reminded him about his family, and about his daughter. He nodded as she asked about Mia, chuckling softly before he spoke.
“She’s already almost three years old. It’s crazy, it’s like yesterday she was born. She grew up fast, ya know? Love her to bits. She’s in that... that phase right now where she wants to be a princess when she grows up.”

might’ve misjudged him a tad, turning out to be not such a fancy schmancy after all. none of that daddy’s boy; RICH KID SNOB she usually gets the feel of either. hell, he even has a bit of charm for a fancy city guy. && guts too, if he comes knockin’ at doors not his neighborhood. ‘specially one like here.
“ a runnin’ car ‘s good enough for spare parts to ours. come on, you gotta own something nice ? everyone owns something nice. like that suit of yours. what’s the nicest thing you own ? “
ask her, she dated a car thief for some time now. until he fucked up and ran. like a goddamn COWARD. bolted because he couldn’t own up to his lies.
“ yeah ? I wouldn’t know, the only weddings ‘round here are the ones of family or friends. rarely anyone getting married these days anyways. “
there was this rich guy wedding a while back, but she ain’t talking about that. rather just forget the whole charade happened. her gaze drops down on the smoke in her hand, it’s half already, she’s spent the time talkin’ to Mr fancy over there to remember her smoke. within a moment she flicks off excess ash && after a final drag, stumps it out on the floorboard.
“ Fiona. you goin’ far ? “
he pursed his lips together, taking another sip of his beer. something nice that he owned. he didn’t own many fancy things, besides his cameras for work.
“well i’ve got a lot of cameras, nice ones for my job. that’s probably the only fancy things i really have. i’ve got a lot of them, too. what about you? do you have something nice that you own? valuable, but not really valuable from the price?”
eric’s shoulders shrugged a bit and he looked over towards the girl, fiona. she was nice, welcoming. he was happy that he didn’t get some asshole shooing him off of his porch with a shotgun.
“it’s nice to meet you, fiona. i don’t like far from here. i live about thirty minutes from here, or so my gps says. i live in La Grange with my daughter in an apartment down the street from my studio downtown. would have bought the upstairs apartment but the owners of the studio building wouldn’t let us rent both of the floors. so my wife and i decided to just live down the street. i uhm...not sure why i’m telling you all of this. i’m sorry.”
he’s getting better about talking about his deceased wife without having a mini breakdown. it’s nice, to be able to talk freely about that.
