Hi! I’m Cam, I’m 17, and I’m currently interning at the Magnus Institute! It’s surprisingly fun for a research institution, and the people there are nice!
My pronouns change constantly (genderfluid noises), but they/them is usually a sure bet if you don’t know :)

Cam sets the box down as instructed. “Oh! It’s okay, I don’t think we’ve met. I’m Cam, and I’m interning with the Archives.”
Interning? Hm, I didn’t know they did that. And yeah, we probably haven’t met. I was on leave for 6 months.
“I didn’t know they did leave here,” Cam attempts to joke. She’s well aware at this point that they can’t quit, but he can’t say it bothers them much.
Under specific circumstances, at least. I’m Sonja, by the way.
Cam smiles. “Nice to meet you! So you’re back to working here?”
I am, yes. Why did you decide to work in the Archives?
“Well, I, uh… Well, I like research, I love reading, and it paid well enough.” That was most of the truth. It would be a bit weird of her to admit that he’d felt drawn to the Archives the moment he’d gone to apply, though they could never pinpoint exactly what it was that had drawn her in.
Mhm… Well. I can’t say those are bad reasons, but there are other jobs that meet those, er, requirements, without— er… without being so unpredictable. It’s an… alright, job, but there’s better out there.
[Was that okay? Hopefully it was ok. She’s more used to being direct and to the point to new employees about quitting as soon as possible, but she doesn’t exactly have anything to point at with the Archives. They’re just. Really fucking sketchy. No concrete evidence to prove her point, not like what she has with Storage.]
Cam shrugged. “Yeah, there weren’t any positions open in the Library, and I was told I’m like a… test run? for internships here, so I didn’t want to push my luck and try to lobby for a different position. The agreement is that I’ll be officially hired when I turn 18, so I’ll just wait until then if I end up wanting to switch.”
Oh. I guess that makes sense, yeah. You’re sure you want to work… here, when you turn 18?
Cam’s eyes light up. “Oh, definitely! Even though the work I’m doing now is boring, the subject matter is all so fascinating! I feel like I’m learning more here than school at this point!”

“Yeah! I do!” His enthusiasm is apparent, and sincere. Even if Sonja doesn’t know what being eye-aligned means, Cam gives the same general vibe as the rest of this place.

[A door appears on the wall of their office, it’s pink. When it opens, a figure comes tumbling out, hitting the ground hard, they look rough, a small hole in their chest, leaking spiraling blood.]
[They devolve into a fit of curses as they lay on the ground in pain.]

Cam looked up from the book they were reading, dropping it when he saw Ash.
“Ash!” He said, climbing of bed and rushing over. She knelt down next to the bleeding figure. “What happened?”
[They coughed violently, a bit more blood spilling out.]
Stranger… doll… metal fucking heels… chest—
Cam panics, pressing her hands to their chest. “What- how do I help? Should I- should I get a nurse?
Yes… Please do—
[They cough again, wincing as they do so.]
Cam rushes out, but it’s the middle of the night and they somehow can’t find a nurse. They grab a roll of bandages and return, starting to remove ash’s blood-soaked shirt.
”I don’t know… how much that’s gonna do beside stopping the bleeding…”
[They wince.]
“Pretty sure I broke a rib or three—“
Well what should I do?
”I don’t know! I’m not used to… being this injured… Just bandage me up, I’ll be fine.”
Cam sighs and cleans off the blood as best she can with a tissue. “Is this gonna be enough?” They slather ointment onto the wound and stick a thick piece of gauze on it before he begins to wrap a bandage around Ash’s torso.
