Buffy was brought back to life the second time in her grave after fully decomposing, no longer fully human, danny only has two episodes in which he "comes back" (the first time he became ghost boy, and the episode where sam reset the timeline which could be argued as only coming back wrong once as he doesnt remember the original time only sam does), buffy has canonically died twice and each time she came back she came back wrong and wronger

Plus if we bring in the first time she died, previous to this she was a bubbly happy 15 yr old girl, who was hurt by the master and then left to drown before her friend Xander was able to resuscitate her, after she came back she was never the same and her friends distanced themselves from her on multiple occasions bc they didnt know how to help someone who has died twice

Like if we being completely honest yall dont know who jennifer check is (megan fox in jennifers body) bc in comparison of "who came back wrong" between danny and jennifer, jennifer, an innocent slightly tomboyish high school girl, came back much more wrong than danny after becoming a succubus who has to kill to continue living- after being assaulted and used as a cult sacrifice.

This really seems to come down to what you think "coming back wrong" means. Danny is physically very very wrong but mentally he's just fine. He copes remarkably well with being a freak of nature. Buffy, on the other hand, is rightfully miserable after getting pulled out of literal heaven back into being the Slayer.

I stand by what I said in my tags on this, personally. This hurt me so much, but physically, Buffy was fine. She was depressed and suicidal yes, but frankly ? She was already kinda on her way to that by the end of season 5, her death and forced resurrection just sped up the process.

And like, I get it, God I think that was one of the cruelest thing that happened in the entire buffy-verse, BUT ! The first time we hear "You came back wrong", it is coming from Spike, that is getting off on beating her and taunting her to reciprocate. And we get that she didn't ACTUALLY came back wrong, just that the chip didn't consider her human anymore, but that's just it ! One of the biggest messages of season 6, at least to me, was that even when you are hurt, even when you suffer, you are still yourself and life is worth living just for the sake of it.

Buffy ultimately didn't come back wrong. Being depressed and feeling like dying all the time isn't being wrong, it is being hurt. She is hurt, but she is STILL herself and things may never go back to how they were, but she can and will move forward and find new happiness in her future. That's what makes her so extraordinary.

(Also, personally, I think she'd even feel lowkey insulted to win such a poll, ngl.)

Anyway, Danny is a litteral and certified freak of nature, that doesn't and won't ever fit in with any of the worlds he got sidelined to.

On the most litteral and physical of senses, Danny is the one that came back wrong.
