Rare Photos of Frida Kahlo as a Young Woman in the 1920s
Taken in the 1920s, the photos present Kahlo—who was born in 1907—as a young woman. Set in various locations over the course of a number of years, the photos trace Kahlo’s journey into early adulthood. Some of them appear to be formal portraits of the artist. These photos were likely taken at National Preparatory School, where Kahlo was enrolled in 1922. In addition to traditional portrayals, casual shots with family, friends, peers, and her husband, fellow artist Diego Rivera, also comprise the collection of rare photographs. Even in such informal situations, Kahlo seldom smiles—a persona she would retain in future photographs and stoic self-portraits. (Source)

There will be trying moments. The critics will rage. Your “friends” will disappoint you. But, you will have an Almighty God to comfort you, a family who loves you, and a country that is pulling for you, including me. No matter what comes, you will be inspired by the character and compassion of the people you now lead.

Trump blows the dogwhistle to his base on voter fraud: “Look at what’s registering”
Speaking to GOP congresspeople Thursday, Trump leaned into his vow to investigate what he claims are widespread irregularities in voter registration.
“We need to keep the ballot box safe from illegal voting. And believe me, take a look at what’s registering, folks.“He added, “We’re going to protect the integrity of the ballot box, and we’re going to defend the votes of the American citizens. So important.”
Trump’s insistence on ordering a probe of voter registration comes amidst a flood of bipartisan objections that there is no evidence of widespread tampering or rigging of the 2016 presidential election.
The “what’s registering” statement wasn’t received warmly by Republicans in the room. But Twitter knows exactly what he was saying. Read more
