Pushing through the crowds of people at Sapphire, all wanting to say hello and request a dance later in the night, Chanel couldn’t help but feel like the genuinely most important person in the room. Growing up she’d felt insignificant, unimportant, just another face in the crowd. Joining the Costellos had given her the life she’d been missing and had felt she’d been destined for all along. Her birthday was the one day a year where she felt like that was still true.
The bartender was quick to oblige at the mention of Chanel, attempting to figure out just what the purple glittery stuff was. Soon enough, two little shot glasses of swirling glittery alcohol was placed in front of them, and Chanel squealed with excitement.
“These look amazing.”
Chanel quickly picked hers up in a cheering fashion before giggling and shaking her head at Camila’s last comment. “Don’t worry, I’ll have plenty of singles after this to make up for the lack of double. This birthday bitch keeps it flowing.” What was she even saying at this point. Did it really matter? She’d most likely forget 80% of the conversations she had tonight. As long as she had fun in the moment was all that really mattered.
Quickly downing the shot, she took a moment to let it settle before turning to Camila and going back to her first question.
“Anyway, Mia is my Ginger Spice, Sofia is my Baby Spice, and Violet is my Scary Spice. Sporty Spice is probably off dunking basketballs or something, so the Spice Girls are just a quartet tonight. I’ll blame Ezra for not having a girl I could snag into the group for that one.”
‘These look amazing.’
Camila paused to survey the drinks. They were rather pretty- glittering, swirling concoctions that looked something like a wizard’s potion. She’d never seen something quite as hypnotic. Chanel looks equally as thrilled, squealing and clapping her hands together in anticipation of the drink.
“This shit looks like something out of a fairytale. Y’know in Shrek, in the second one, where the fairy godmother had all those little potions?”
She follows Chanel’s lead, tipping the shotglass backwards.
It tasted just as good as it looked! Camila examines the now-empty glass with wide eyes, still shocked that alcohol could taste like that. Damn.

Camila smiles.
“I bet you guys look so CUTE together! I love themed parties, I wish people would do them more often. Especially costume ones!”
“Next year ... you should do an outer space theme. OR. A murder mystery...”
