Have you read If Dreams Die by Orphic_Gaze on ao3? Since you seem to love slow burn dunkaerion, I say this with my full chest: this fic is arguably the best-written dunkaerion to ever pop out of fandom. It follows the events of the novellas loosely, in a reality where several decisions happen, making Dunk become Aerion’s sworn sword instead of Egg’s. On the surface it may sound trope-y, and in many ways it’s a travel fic, but that’s not all there is; there’s action, political suspense, wholesomeness, fairytale elements, prophecy, smallfolk culture, interesting character relationships, etc. I genuinely don’t think you can write a better Dunkaerion fic, and I’ve been hoping one day the fandom’s lovely artists would make art for it…. I hope one day it will be you!!! The most recent chapter is a whirlwind and you would have a blast choosing from hundreds of stellar scenes to draw!! If not to make art, then just to read. I truly cannot stress how profound this fic is.
