Heaven help me, is anyone else absolutely cooking in the heat recently?! The fact it’s going to reach 38 degrees on Tuesday makes me want to move to the Antarctic.

The worst part… I’ve ran out of ice cream.

Can’t say I feel the same way. I love the heat! The warmer the better. It’s a good excuse to go to the park and dip your feet in one of the fountains or the pond. 

Oh, running out of ice cream in the middle of a heatwave.. that’s not good. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that they haven’t run out of it at the supermarket for you.

Apparently, when you spend the better part of two years working crazy hours almost non-stop without a proper vacation and barely any time off, it tends to catch up with you at the absolute worst possible time.

I never get sick, but pretty much as soon as the doors closed behind the last patron for Coda’s birthday bash, my immune system decided to go on strike and teach me a lesson. I’m fairly certain the bar’s still standing, since I live above it and would have noticed otherwise, but if I’m not at the piano this week – that would be why, I’m afraid.

From the sound of it your body decided you need a bit of a break, seriously, you should listen to it. It’s okay to take a break every now and then. - Says one workaholic to the other - If you need someone to pick up a few extra hours I’m only a call away.

Any sauce that adds vodka is A+ as far as I’m concerned. It really would, especially outside of my little Coda bubble – if they don’t come into the bar, I probably haven’t had a chance to get to know then very well, even after being her for years. Sure, why not? I’ll need something to focus on once things get a little quieter at work.

I agree, it makes it A+. Same with any sauce that has some wine in it. Time to get you outside of your little Coda bubble for a bit and what better way to do that then with free food. Yes! Thank you! I have no idea where to even start with organizing such a thing. I think with getting the word out? And maybe we can make it a joined event with that movie night Jackie is planning? Make a whole day for it?

Dae: Thanks.. she can see me on Friday. I just feel so down babe like I can’t stop crying 😪

Cammy: That’s good to hear. It makes me feel a little less guilty for sleeping through it all. 

Cammy: We don’t have rehearsals this Friday so that works. Oh sweetie, that’s not good. I’m so so sorry you feel like that.

Well of course, I can’t imagine it is easy with big group of people. I use to be quite shy when I was younger but my parents would always encourage me to go to their parties and premieres and slowly but surely it helped. But I love spending time with people much more when its people I know and am comfortable with.

Your parents sound like mine, they did the same thing. It sure helped me get thru high school better, helped me find friends and all that. Me too; it’s easier to open up with people you know already. I’m not great with small talk which is one of the things you do when you first meet someone, right? And there’s always this little bit of doubt in the back of my mind that when I’m talking to someone new they’re doing it because they pity me, or feel obligated to talk to me - poor guy is blind, better talk to him. I know all my friends aren’t like that, but when it’s someone new there’s always that little voice in the back of my mind. Know what I mean?

Dae: I need to go back to the doctor yeah.. just getting bad again 😔 Can you come if I make an appointment?

Cammy: Always, you know that. Has Bart been checking in on you from time to time when you sneak out of bed in the middle of the night to play games? I did notice you’ve been sleepy the last few days in the morning. 

Cammy: Of course! Just let me know when the appointment is and I’ll come with you.

Dae: Me too… I dunno maybe I need to do more for this I just don’t know what to do

Cammy: Don’t feel bad. I wouldn’t say it’s okay to wake me if I didn’t mean it. I want to be there for you. I’d feel bad knowing I was asleep next to you while you were scared from a nightmare. 

Cammy: Maybe talk to a professional?

Dae: I also have nightmares like that bc people find out who I am from online so I have bad dreams about it.

Dae: That sounds nice I hope so.. 😪

Cammy: Oh no, those sound bad. I’m so sorry you’re having them. You know you can wake me if you need someone to talk to when you just had one, right?

I can do a halfway decent vodka cream sauce, when it comes to pastas, it’s hard to go wrong with all the different ways you can make something like that. You know, I hadn’t thought of it like that – but it really could be, we’ve got enough people from all over. I could break out my mom’s lumpia recipe and everything.

Vodka cream sauce... yummy! Right? You really cannot go wrong with pasta. Aside from not boiling the pasta the right way, but other then that it’s easy. It would be a great way to get to know the people that are kinda new in this street plus all the yummy food from all over the world. Ugh, I’m getting excited already and all we’ve done is talk about it. Do you have time to help plan this? Not right away but after CODA’s birthday celebrations are over.
