Camp Courage is a place where ignorant parents send their gay, bi, lesbian, queer, trans*, questioning children to be ‘cured’. It’s a vile facility disguised as a sophisticated, posh ‘rehabilitation’ center for troubled youth. A group of teenagers have been thrown together in this horrific place with condescending counselors, doctors, and mentors who work to ‘fix’ them and help them learn how to live a healthy normal lifestyle. A small group of these teens are determined to show this “Camp” that they can’t change them. As love, friendship, camaraderie, and a fierce sense of pride and devotion to who they are brings together a tight-knit bunch of these teens in their fight to reveal the camp’s true mission and to show the world that they are fine the way they are.

Hey guys....

I really hate to see some of our best characters and players leaving. You really don't have to, but if you want to I know I can't stop you. I'm really sorry that the RP hasn't been extremely active lately...I've been having some issues this summer with myself, family, my friends...and the past week or two I've been really busy. I also got really in a slump/funk about some of the 'hate' we were getting from people, which has also made me hesitant to post promos for a bit, but I was coming up with ideas and thinking about some stuff to do promotion-wise and also to come up with more interesting things to do around camp. I wouldlovefor you guys to stay, but I guess I understand if you want to leave....though you will be missed.....

Lilian “Lily” Caraway | 15 | questioning/heteroromantic/asexual) | FC: Chloe Moretz | TAKEN

For most of her life, Lily didn’t know that there was such a thing as asexuality. What she did know was that for whatever reason, she had absolutely no desire to ever have sex- in fact, the very idea repulsed her to the point that she developed a phobia of it. Even after discovering that there was such a thing as asexuality, she assumed it couldn’t apply toher- after all, then she wouldn’t get crushes, right? When the time came that her strict, Catholic mother finally gave her “the talk” (about 3 years after she’d learned the information at school), she warned Lily about the temptations of sex, and how she’d have to abstain until marriage. Thinking it would reassure her mother, she informed the woman that it wouldn’t be a problem- after all, sex was disgusting, and there was no way she’d ever want to have premarital sex anyways. Taking this to mean her daughter was a lesbian, Mrs. Caraway shipped her off to camp without a second thought, ignoring Lily’s protests entirely.

Attention Campers!

It is with sadness and a heavy heart that I bring you all this news, though I feel that it is what is fair and only right to share it with you. Tonight, only moments ago, a camper was found in the lake by one of our counselors making their nightly rounds for curfew. Her parents have been notified and arrangements are being made for transportation. Please know that we mourn her loss along with those of you close to her. There will be a moment of silence in the morning at breakfast, and a small memorial service tomorrow evening at the bonfire pit. We are terribly sorry for any pain this causes, and any camper who feels that it is necessary can request a grief counseling session. We will keep Miss Todd's family in our prayers during this difficult time.

Hey guys, so as you’ve seen, we apparently have a few people (actually a lot) who for some reason have decided to have a problem with an RPG that they have no connection to and are not involved in, and have become very vocal in their dislike. I don’t want to shut down, that is not my intention at all and I enjoy this RPG way too much….there have also been a lot of people who have said that they thought this was a good idea and concept including several roleplay critics that I’ve had review the RP, so I’m trying to ignore the negative comments and handle the situation as well as I can. We have even been equated to being the ‘ARKH project’ of the tumblr rpg world….

I just thought you guys deserved to know what was going on so you could be aware of it. Honestly I’m really upset right now…I don’t like having my RP attacked that I came up with the concept for by myself, put a lot of thought into, and took my time to create and get running and have invested a lot of myself in.

You do realize, however, that making posts in sexuality tags can be potentially triggering to people who HAVE experienced these places (which are far worse than you’re making them out to be) and could experience a psychological break, right?

Also, using Michele Bachman as a face claim for the boss lady isn’t very unique or original.

None of my promotional posts really include very much information in them to be triggering, it's just a simple plot description that focuses more on the campers themselves than the camp, however, I will take your comment into consideration, though I am not in any way saying that I am excusing the fact that I have been attacked on a very personal level by messages, some of which I have deleted and not even responded to.

Also, I didn't claim that it was supposed to be a unique choice, actually the choice was supposed to be more humorous than anything.
