Matthew and Camila Body Language Analysis

Hey @into-control, I’m the anon with the friend who studies human behaviour and social interaction. She’s not an expert, but she’s done a lot of research on body language for her course.

She sent me everything in bullet points, so I typed it all up into paragraphs.

I wanted to keep this as unbiased as possible, so the only thing I told her about Ew was that he has a YouTube channel and used to have a TV show. Also, I told her they’ve been dating for a year. She doesn’t really know much about Camila either.

Everything below written in first person is her opinion. (I do agree with most of it though, but not all of it.)

In almost all of the photos I saw, Matthew and Camila consistently displayed certain types of body language. I’ll just outline the main things that stood out to me.

1 — Walking Style:

— Couples tend to walk with their shoulders close enough to brush. Matthew and Camila regularly leave noticeable gaps in between their bodies. Allowing someone into your personal space is a sign of intimacy, but Matthew and Camila stay out of each other’s personal space for the most part, showing they may not feel emotionally close to one another.

— Walking side-by-side at the same pace shows the couple see each other as equals. At times, Matthew is walking way ahead of Camila. He takes much larger strides than she does. When she falls behind, he doesn’t slow down or even glance back at her. This suggests a lack of respect and care for her and shows there’s an imbalance in the relationship. He seems to see himself as more important than her as he expects her to keep up with him. It’s a subtle sign of selfishness.

— Even when it seems like they’re walking side-by-side, they’re not. Matthew is always walking slightly ahead of Camila.

— They also walk out of sync a lot of the time. Couples tend to naturally walk in sync without even thinking by stepping forward with the same leg for each stride. Matthew and Camila’s walking style suggests a disconnect between them.

— Couples tend to glance at each other while they walk, and they usually subsconsciously lean or angle their body slightly towards each other. Matthew and Camila barely even look at each other. Their bodies are facing straight forwards and are sometimes even subtly angled away from each other. When they do look at each other, they usually only turn their heads without tilting their body which is awkward body language and suggests they’re not comfortable with one another.

— They essentially walk separately. Their hands are the only thing connecting them since they barely acknowledge each other with their body language.

2 — Matthew’s “Power” Body Language:

— Matthew often asserts himself using “power” body language. This seems to be a sign of perceived dominance or superiority on his part, however, it could also be a sign of insecurity.

— He almost always assumes a “power position” when he’s walking with Camila. He places his shoulder and arm in front of Camila, partially blocking her body. This is a sign of dominance and control.

— He has “loud” body language. He walks with large strides and an exaggerated movement of his arms, he makes himself seem bigger and takes up space by extending his elbows, he makes large gestures, etc. These are all “power” behaviours and show he wants to be noticed. It suggests he’s over-confident or maybe even arrogant. Matthew definitely sees himself as the dominant one in the relationship.

— He almost always has hostile body language. He seems very tense and annoyed in a lot of the photos. In some photos, he has his chin tilted upwards which is usually seen as either condescending or aggressive.

— He also often stares straight ahead without blinking much, a sign of dominance, tension, or even anger.

— A hand on the back can be a reassuring gesture, but in one video, Matthew puts his hand on Camila’s back to try to lead her into an elevator when she stops to talk to a fan. In this context, this seems more like controlling behaviour. It’s another example of a power move.

— This next video made me feel uncomfortable because Camila tries to distance herself from him by walking to the side, and Matthew PULLS her back into him and continues walking. It doesn’t look gentle, and he doesn’t even glance at her. It gave me controlling vibes. It’s actually the second time in the video he does it, but it was more subtle the first time.

— In my opinion, Matthew comes across as unlikeable. His facial expressions are also pretty hostile most of the time: furrowed eyebrows, grimaces, pursed lips,etc. However, it’s possible that he might just not like being on camera which is fair enough.

3 — Camila’s Anxious Body Language:

— Camila’s body language suggests a lot of anxiety and discomfort.

— When people are relaxed and have open body language, they’re more likely to let their clothing hang loosely, for example, taking off a jacket. Camila does the opposite, showing she’s uncomfortable. In some of the photos, she’s gripping her clothes, or drawing them more closed.

— Camila covers her crotch or stomach at times. This is a subconscious sign that someone is uncomfortable and tense. She also sometimes draws her own arm over her torso, an example of a defensive, self-comforting action.

— Looking down is also a big sign of anxiety or discomfort.

— In this next photo, Camila’s hand is positioned close to her neck. In women, touching or placing their hand close to their throat is a subsconscious action that’s usually a result of anxiety or stress. It’s also a sign that the woman is lying or hiding something. It suggests Camila wants to get out of the situation she’s currently in.

— Another sign of closed and uncomfortable body language. She’s holding an item in front of her torso defensively, almost like a “barrier” when she could just as easily have held it by her side instead.

— What I find weird about Camila is the fact that when she’s anxious, she doesn’t seem to reach out to Matthew or glance at him for reassurance or comfort. I get the impression that they’re not very close.

— She’s exhibiting clear signs of sadness in this next photo. Lowered brows, deep frown, head tilted downwards, eyes cast down, lips slightly pinched, etc. Something’s clearly upset her a lot, and he hasn’t seemed to notice her emotional state. They’re both just in their own worlds and don’t seem focused enough on each other most of the time.

— In this next photo, her arms are drawn into her body and in an awkward position in front of her torso. It also looks like she’s trying to smile, but her teeth are gritted which makes it look more like a grimace. She’s not relaxing into his body. It looks like she’s trying to resist him slightly.

— Camila’s body language is basically the opposite of Matthew’s. It’s subdued, like she’s trying not to draw attention to herself. She makes herself small. She seems like a timid and anxious person to me. She draws her limbs into her body and almost hunches down at times. Her elbows are often drawn into her body slightly which shows tension in her muscles. She also often tilts her head down subtly which is a defensive action. She seems sad and tired in most of these photos.

4 — Kissing:

— Their kissing is strange in my opinion.

— In this photo, Matthew’s stance is quite rigid, and it’d be more natural for him to angle his body more towards Camila. Besides that, his body language is fairly normal. However, Camila’s is odd. Look how far back her left leg is. Whether subconsciously or intentionally, she’s trying to maintain distance between them by keeping that leg back there instead of stepping forward. She’s also not tilting her head into the kiss like couples tend to do. There’s more space between their faces than is typical for a kiss.

— I wish this next photo was higher quality, but from what I can see, Matthew’s eyes are open, yet he isn’t looking at her. Couples tend to make eye contact before kissing. The corners of Camila’s mouth are downturned, her nose is slightly twisted, and there’s tension in her jaw. These are usually signs of disgust.

— In the video of them making out on a bench, Camila’s legs are crossed, a sign of discomfort and a way of creating a physical barrier. It suggests she’s feeling vulnerable. She tilts her head and neck away from him like she’s trying to create physical distance. Matthew doesn’t seem to know where to put his hands. He’s not actually trying to touch her or initiate physical affection.

Camila puts her hands on his face and head which is a sign that she’s trying to keep his attention focused on her. Matthew seems distracted. He’s not showing any interest in Camila whatsoever. It’s just very awkward for a make-out session. There’s no passion, there’s no happiness on either of their faces, she’s not leaning into him, etc.

5 — Hands:

— The typical way for couples to hold hands is with intertwined fingers, with their fingers also wrapped around the back of the other person’s hand to maximise skin contact. Camila and Matthew do hold hands like that sometimes, but sometimes, they hold each other’s hands loosely with their fingers limp.

— They also sometimes hold hands without intertwining their fingers at all which is seen as more platonic than romantic.

— Camila is holding something in her hand in the next photo which is blocking her hand from making full contact with Matthew’s. She could easily switch it to her other hand instead. The physical barrier between their hands can possibly reflect a psychological barrier between them.

6 — Facial Expressions:

— Matthew’s smile is often tight and constricted, a sign that it’s forced. He’s trying to seem happy, but it’s exaggerated and doesn’t reach his eyes.

— With Camila, it’s harder to tell because she’s almost always wearing sunglasses. The telltale sign with her that her smile isn’t genuine is that her cheek muscles aren’t raised. A fake smile tends to only affect the appearance of your mouth.

— For the most part though, their faces are often stoic and emotionless. The corners of Matthew’s lips are usually slightly downturned which is a sign of unhappiness. He sometimes even looks angry. His jaw is clenched, lips pursed, and his eyes are staring straight ahead.

7 — Lack of Focus and Attention:

— Making a lot of eye contact shows emotional intimacy and attraction. Camila and Matthew barely even pay attention to each other. When they make eye contact, they don’t hold it for long. Holding eye contact is a sign of attraction, focus, and interest. Both of them seem more focused on the cameras, especially Matthew.

Thoughts:

— Overall, Camila and Matthew display a lot of visible signs of tension in their body language. They look bored in a lot of the photos, shown by the way they look away and their lack of expression.

— You’d expect a fairly new couple to be quite touchy and affectionate with each other. You’d also see signs of physical attraction. Camila and Matthew’s body language isn’t loving or intimate. It seems like an emotionally unhealthy relationship. They seem very disconnected and disinterested in each other.

— They definitely don’t seem like they’re in love. At times, it even looks like they have some kind of internal resentment for the other. There are no real signs of emotional closeness.

— People subconsciously move closer to people they’re attracted to, but Matthew and Camila consistently maintain their distance, even if it’s in subtle ways like leaning away slightly.

— For me, the biggest red flag is how apathetic they seem to be towards each other. They just don’t seem to care about each other at all. They look at each other blankly, and there’s no true emotion in their facial expressions or body language.

— I’m genuinely shocked that they’ve lasted a whole year. I feel like they’ll break up soon though because their relationship seems like it’s been on its way out for months.

Media Analysis: Lauren to Zach Sang (Grammys)

I’ll start the video by saying that Zach is one of the best journalists out there in this area. He’s respectful, he makes relevant questions, and he has a natural charm. Having said that, let’s talk about the interview. Zach started by complimenting Lauren and she liked it so much that she used her baby voice (run, Zach, run!). It was really cute.

Then, he asked about her time at an all-female writing camp. More than half of this interview was about it and Lauren did really well. That’s what I mean when I say her management needs to find the right spaces for Lauren to speak her mind. Everything she said in this interview was on point and it made her a more interesting character. This is way better than ranting on Twitter at absolutely nothing. Zach’s posture helped because he didn’t talk over her, he let her speak, and he recognized that, as a cis man, there was no way he would ever know what it’s like to be a woman.

Then, they talked about LJ1. Lauren claimed she’s halfway in the making and revealed that she’s using live instruments and no autotune. I really like the part about live instruments, but I’m wary about the tune part. It’s cool that she’s ditching autotune, but I hope her vocals go through a better treatment than they did on MTT.

Finally, the Valentine’s question. The first thing to note is that Lauren didn’t mention Ty’s name. Using Camila’s tactic, she tried to avoid the question by mentioning a Spotify playlist, but she answers eventually. Lauren says they haven’t thought about it but - ops!, she has a seeding to do. Then, she corrects herself by saying she hopes he’ll have something planned.

Lauren claims she doesn’t have high standards for Valentine’s Day, as long as she gets to spend her time with her loved one. That’s really beautiful, especially when we bring it into Camren. All Lauren wants is to spend her Valentine’s Day with Camila, but they can’t because Baby C is in Dubai and they’re both stunting.

The cool thing is that Zach gets the hint. That’s real love!, a subtle way to say that he knows Tyren is fake. Lauren knows that he knows, but she needs to continue with her seeding - dinner, candles, and roses. Coincidentally (or not), those were all shown in the Tyren stunt this year.

However, Lauren ends mentioning “My Heart Will Go On”. If any of you is familiar with the song, you’ll understand that the song could fit a long distance relationship. It’s not that romantic for your average couple for there are better songs. But that’s a theme for another post ;)

Either way, Lauren was really brave in this interview. I don’t know if it’s because she feels comfortable with Zach and he’s an ally or because, like Camila, she’s really done with management bullshit.

Does Lauren even write like that? It just doesn’t ring true that she wrote that post it just doesn’t sound like something she would actually say or write. I think laurens too smart and her vocabulary is so much more than that.

Lauren doesn’t type like that. Here’s how I know that:

Look at the difference between Laucy, and Tijuana Money.

Lauren NEVER once validated it’s legitimacy, or acknowledged what anyone else had to say during the relationship. Lauren never once shifted the importance of her message towards something else other than the person the post was for. She was always very very descriptive, and there were tons of different photos. Not the same recycled BS over and over again.

The whole “I need to continuously validate that it’s a real realtionship ” has only ever been in the case of Ty.

And in this post there’s a huge contradiction. “I don’t like to talk much on here” BUT “people love to comment on your personal relationships.”

Personal relationships? Uh, don’t they mean public relationship because everything has been/is constantly made public for 2 entire fucking years?

Fast forward 2 years,

July 27th, 2018

Lauren and Dinah were officially added onto Maverick’s artist page.

About a few days later on August 4th, 2018 Tijuana $ Sign was officially added onto Maverick’s artist page. Which makes me believe he was signed days even before that.

And I was correct.

Someone sent this to me on July 31st, 2018.

Anyways even though we been knew, the fraud of a relationship itself, and Dolly being signed to Maverick was now made more clear that it was all planned since 2016 and it’s an irritating fucking mess. But no homo.
