Humanitarian Crisis in Yemen

Although, I initially created this page with the BLM movement being the focal point, we must not disregard other issues going on around the world. From this moment forward, I will be attempting to stay as informed as possible with regards to current events that deserve urgent attention. 

Starting with the current situation in Yemen. This crisis has been ongoing for 5 years, stemming from the outbreak of territorial war. Along with this, poverty has risen dramatically, with around 20.1 million people starving, malnourished, without food and around 17.8 million in need of water and sanitation. All of this, whilst suffering from a cholera epidemic, alongside the global Covid pandemic.

The Black Curriculum

I’ve just now come across “The Black Curriculum”, which is an organisation that is set up with the objectives and aims of: teaching an accessible educational black history curriculum that raises attainment for young people, improving social cohesion between young people in the UK and also providing a sense of belonging and identity to young people across the UK. 

It is a much needed organisation and I am so thrilled to see that it exists.
