Hello otherkins and therians! I’m new to the online community, so here comes a little intro post.

I am a female eurasian wolf. I am also a lycanthrope, but I have a separate blog for that (see above ^_^).

I don’t really use a name, since I am not a domestic animal.

I have known that I am a wolf for over half my life, but I have never been active in the otherkin community. My animal side has been suppressed for many years, but has recently started to break out a lot.

I feel a lot of shame and confusion about my identity, so I really want to find some nonhumans with experience and knowledge that can help me really understand therianthrophy.

I’m also looking for nonhuman mutuals and friends, preferably canines like me. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me if u wanna be mutuals!

I usually feel sooo much more shifty and close to my theriantrophy in the winter, but it also makes me miss my winter coat so much :,(

Just imagine laying down in the snow and sleeping without getting cold…

Does anyone else struggle with your alterhumanity going against your religious beliefs?

I personally am a christian, and while I do absolutely support, accept and love all other therians and otherkins, I have a hard time accepting my own identity. Especially the fact that I am (alongside being a wolf) a lycanthrope, as we are considered demonic creatures in my religion.

Like, along the witch trials in medieval times, there were literally werewolf trials where the church would accuse people of being lycanthropes and punish them.

I really don’t know what to do about this. Anyone else feel this way? :(

The she-wolf doesn’t concern herself with food problems or body image issues because wolves don’t care about that stuff.

Any other non-domestic animals on here struggle with the fact that there is basically no equipment you can get to help with species dysphoria?

For example, dogs and cats can get collars, harnesses, feeding bowls and pet toys. Domestic birds can get cages, seed bowls and enrichment toys. Equines can get like box toys, halters, boots, blankets and horse treats.

But we non domestic animals can’t get shi, like what can we possibly get?? As a wolf, I gotta be like ohh right I’ll just pop to the pet store and get some frozen deer legs to chew on you know ;_;

I hate shifting in this body. I truly wish I didn’t, but I do.

I am constantly reminded of how deformed this body is. Reminded of how it’s not built for a life on all fours, in nature.

Spine and back muscles, too short, too stiff.

Neck and shoulderblades straining, aching unbearably.

Back legs too long, the muscles too weak, knees scraping the ground.

Tailbone too short, incapable of moving or expressing emotion.

Snout too short, too pushed in.

Eyes, completely blind in the dark.

Nose. Incapable of tracking scent, identifying smells, distinguishing differences in environment.

Ears too small, hearing too dull.

Hands and feet, taking the place of paws. Too sensitive and weak, scratched up by the smallest sticks and stones.

Nails, so brittle and weak. Useless for digging.

Teeth. Too weak, too short, too dull.

Naked skin, lacking all the protective and warming fur.

I cannot fathom how you all handle it so bravely and patiently. Truly. How can I ever really live this way?

I can’t be the only one who gets so sad when I think about the fact that I’ll probably never find a mate that I can be open with about who I really am.

I have no trouble at all finding human partners, but I just know that even if I find ”the one” I will still have to keep myself a secret.

It feels so strange to have to put on a mask to live in a world that you don’t even belong in.
