UM ADDING MAKEUP TO A PICTURE? oh you mean like the one I did with Lindsey, right (I got super confused for a second) OKAY

I used Photoshop CC

let us use this picture of Lindsey (because it’s the one I edited ok)

First, I’m just going to crop and adjust to how I want it so I get this:

and then just edit it, i’m going to use a psd that i saved from the original pic (because i’m lazy lol) so this is what I have so far:

(i know she looks white-washed, but we can fix it at the end - i think it’s better to edit when her skin is lighter so you can see the shadows etc you know?)

here’s where the fun begins! 

LIPS

create a new layer (shift + ctrl + n)

and paint her lips black (yes. i know. such emo)

(as you can see - it doesn’t have to be perfect)

then set the layer to the ‘soft light’ setting (and erase any bits that look weird)

if you’re happy with that lip colour, just leave it

her lips look so weird in this ^ because i accidentally saved the image as a gif *facepalm*

if you’re not, go to ‘layer > new fill layer > and remember to check the ‘use previous layer to create clipping mask’ thing

and you can make her lips any colour you want! i went with #5b1717

BLUSH

create a new layer (shift + ctrl + n)

draw a black arrow on her cheeks

go into filter > blur > gaussian blur

and just adjust until you like it

create a new fill layer again (and again, check that box)

and you can change her cheeks to any colour! i did #e94d4d and toned down the opacity a little

EYES

go back to your background layer

okay, for eye makeup you’ll need two important tools: the dodge and burn tools

burn = dark/smoky and dodge = highlight

here i’m just going over with the burn tool (opacity = 20%)

now for the dodge tool

create a new layer (shift + ctrl + n)

draw a black ‘v’ at the edge of her eyes.. you know, like a winged out eyeliner :)

go to filter > blur > gaussian again

and adjust till you like it

i didn’t like it how it looked so i went back and did another v

just keep adjusting and changing the levels of opacity etc - remember, all pics are different and sometimes things look better without so much eyeshadow etc.

and there you go!

finally, i’m going to sharpen and add noise and add a vibrance layer :)

The electoral college does not vote until December 19th. We have 40 days.

What does this mean?

Right now, the presidential election results are only a PROJECTION of the election outcome. They are PRELIMINARY RESULTS. A candidate still needs to earn 270 electoral votes to win. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, which means that more than 50% of the voters wanted her for president. The electoral college shouldn’t guarantee an override of the public’s opinion– and it doesn’t have to.

There are 21 states that do NOT restrict which candidate the electors vote for. Out of these 21, Hillary lost the following:

As you can see, these states are worth 166 electoral votes. As it currently stands, Hillary Clinton is projected to receive 232 votes. Trump is projected to win 306. This means that 37 votes need to be taken away from Trump to bring him down to 269. Hillary Clinton needs 38 votes ADDED to win 270. These electoral voters can also abstain, which means that they can refuse to vote for either candidate. If 37 of the voters within these states abstain then no candidate will have reached the required 270. In this case, the vote would be taken to the House.

Trump won Pennsylvania, a state that typically votes blue, by less than 100,000 votes. While it is highly unlikely to get all 20 electoral voters to cross party lines and vote democrat, it also isn’t impossible to convince a few of them to be “faithless electors.” We only need to convince 38 out of the 166. That is 23%. There are SIXTEEN states we need to focus our attention on.

A move like this would be unprecedented. However, as we all saw on November 8th, odds don’t guarantee reality. Trump had a less than 20% winning, yet given the circumstances, enough people came together and made it happen. We can make this happen. 

Ask yourself this: What do we have left to lose? We can stay complacent and accept that this country will be run by a racist, sexist, islamophobic, homophobic, ablest bigot, or we can at least try. 

How?

SPREAD THE WORD. Trend #NotMyPresident to let people know that we do not accept being led by a man who does not care about our wellbeing. Email your professors, email the dean of your colleges. The last thing a university wants is negative press. Millenials can take a stand, but that doesn’t mean we have to be the only ones. Church-led events helped bring a lot of disillusioned voters to the polls. Spread the word in any way possible, whether it be on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or even in person. Stage a peaceful protest. Hand out flyers. Let the people around you know that you don’t accept this man as your leader when he won’t even accept you as a citizen with your designated rights.

These 166 people need to face the consequences of electing this man. 

Do this for the people who couldn’t vote. Do this for the people who live in the very real fear of being deported. Do this for the people who will have to face the rise in hate crimes. Do this for the people who have a very real possibility of losing their rights. Do this for the people who will no longer afford necessities.

Honestly, it’s not even Trump that scares me right now.  It’s that half of the voting population hates me.  They hate queer people like me.  The hate women.  They hate racial minorities.  There are so many people thinking I deserve lesser and this just opened my eyes to how many.

ARIELRPT PRESENTS: A POC SAFE MANIP PSD

Manip psds have saved me more than once, especially when I had just started making manips, but I noticed that a lot of psds that worked on manips white washed a lot, so every time I made a manip with pocs I was pretty much making myself a poc safe manip psd anyways and I figured I would make a simple one for other people to use too. 

Things you should know: 

Works really well on manips

Works well on all skin tones

Works on black and white photos too

Super simple, probably the most simple psd you’ll ever encounter

The texture doesn’t belong to me

The texture will end if your picture is a certain size (it’s a pretty big size too this has only happened to me like twice), but it’s made to fit nicely into itself so just duplicate the texture layer and drag it down to where you need it to cover the rest 

You’re gonna have to adjust the brightness/contrast layer to make it work on different pictures, but it’s super simple to do

There are literally three layers in the psd, so like I said it’s super simple

You don’t have to credit me when you use it but don’t claim it as your own either

Make whatever adjustments to it that you need idc but don’t re-release it as your own

Don’t steal the manips I’m using as examples, I’m releasing the full sized versions in a bit anyways if you want to reblog them
