Anyone know what’s going on? Doesn’t look like a “real” warning. I just opened my Macbook. Not touching anything until someone with more knowledge than I have can help out.
It's called a kernel panic. You can find more info here
Kernel panics are kind of tricky because they can be caused by various things both external and internal to the mac. First remove all peripherals from the mac and try booting into the safe mode (by holding down the shift during the boot). See if you can log in here.
If you can log in here, let your mac do a normal restart and see if things work.
If you cannot boot into the safe mode or the issue repeats, shut off the computer again and boot to the recovery partition. If you are running 10.7 and up, this is done by holding down cmd+r. If you are running snow leopard or older, insert your install cd and boot holding down the C.
In the recovery HD, use disc utility to verify you hard disc. If it finds any errors, repair and try reinstalling the mac osx.
should this issue occur again while you are trying to boot to the recovery partition or while you are in the recovery partition, you are looking at a hardware issue and you definitely have to bring in your mac to a service point.
If you got any other questions, or if it does any other weird stuff, feel free to ask.
