You look at almost any other species of mammal and they give each other physical affection all the time, but for some reason we've decided that physical affection when you're an adult should be exclusively romantic and to want frequent physical affection from your friends or family is strange or sus or a sign you actually view them romantically, and this can't be good for us I don't think.

I officially haven't written ANYTHING, including on-demand fundraising ficlets I did the summer before last, since January 2025. I need to suck it up and just try to write this dabihawks idea I have. It's more like a Hawks character study but what the fuck ever, I should just write it down. And it has Lady Nagant so really what's stopping me. I also have no idea who what or why someone would read this but tbh that's kind of part of the appeal... like what have I got to lose. It's occupied my thoughts long enough and frequently enough over the past few weeks I've concluded I actually should just write it.

Also surprise surprise apparently I do like some of the other characters in beanha enough to write about them. Although c'mon tbf that's a given with Nagant and Hawks... such great characters, such grimdark subplot of a very VERY shounen story. 🤔

saw a post letting people know that your ao3 bookmarks are viewable on your account unless you make them private, which suggests that the median ao3 user does not use ao3 in what i will call 'the optimum fic-finding treadmill' where you find a fic author you like and look through their bookmarks to find more fics that are good and then look through that author's bookmarks for even more good fics. like a conga line of great but extremely specific tastes. or one of those chessboard rice doubling analogies and oh no that is a LOT of ao3 tabs.
