My ADD journey part 1
About ten years ago I did one of those dumb pop psychology tests on Facebook called 'what mental illness do you have'. According to the test I have ADD. I didn't think too much of the results at first but then a lot of my friends were commenting things like"ditto we all knew that already" and "you didn't have to take a test to know that". So I did some more research and took some more tests and yes it looks like I have and always have had ADD. I've had to struggle with a lack of a concentration and memory my whole life. However I've been doing a lot of research and experimentation to try to improve my condition. Recently I've had a very bad week where my memory and focus were terrible. I'm not entirely sure why but I'd made several changes at that time. I'd given up alcohol, started taking huel and have been playing Cytus quite a bit. My job is quite stressful and it was busy recently as the kids were of school. I don't see why huel would effect me this way but I've stopped taking that and I seem to be a little better. From reading an ADD forum alcohol seems to have mixed results however overall I think it's a good idea. My sleep quality should improve and hence my brain function. Video game study results are also varied however I think the intensity of Cytus (playing one handed on hard mode) maybe messing with my mojo. So I'm trying not to play that one as well (although it is rather addictive). Ive also started to practice transcendental meditation again (shown to improve ADHD in children) and I've started to take yakult daily. (A study showed improved cognitive function after people had been taking for 3 weeks). Also I took bullet proof coffee today. As ketotic metabolism is also supposed to improve brain function. Once I've gotten a bit sharper again I'm going to try taking huel again to see if it has any adverse effects.
