I needed to say it, thanks to the first parts of the Commandments arc (since they were released until Galand encontered for the first time) and specially thanks to a little scene where he says she is a burden that the anime added there is this assuntion that, because Meliodas wanted Elizabeth to stay in the kindom instead of going with them,  (plus his very vocal insistence in protecting her) he had this view of her like some dansel in distress that needed his protection 24/7, that, even after her awaking her powers, he didn’t trust her.

That is so far from the truth as it can get.

One busy night at Boar Hat Meliodas sneakily made his way through tables and drunk guests right to Elizabeth’s side, and just as Diane and Hawk prepared to kick his ass and stuff it in a barrel behind the bar, instead of his usual shameless groping, he took her hand and invited her to dance with him, taking advantage of the live music that was on that night.
