Confused as to why this needs to be said but:

Involuntary regression is NOT the same thing as vent/stormy/trauma regression. Voluntary regression is NOT ALWAYS all sunshine and rainbows either. Sometimes you can voluntarily vent regress. Sometimes involuntary regression is sunny regression. You cant just say "involuntary" and assume it means vent/stormy. That is not even the definition of the word involuntary

I have no idea why this has become such a widespread misconception? Especially since I thought it was common knowledge that a there are a lot of common positive triggers for sunny involuntary regression, like walking past the toy isle in the store or being spoken to like a little kid and getting subsequently triggered into agere. You guys know that's also considered involuntary agere, right? And it isnt vent?

"Involuntary regression" ONLY means regression that you didn't intend to happen or that you didnt put yourself into consciously.

Whether that means playing a beloved childhood video game to feel small, shipping and writing fanfics with the same glee you did as a teen, regressing as a fictional species, finding comfort in a fictional caregiver, and more!!

Meltdowns happen, it doesn’t make you a bad kid.

You don’t have to play like everyone else does, however you play is awesome!

It’s okay if it’s hard to communicate, it doesn’t make you a burden.

Stimming is normal and a great tool to get the feelings out!

Sharing your special interests doesn’t make you a ‘know it all’, it’s really cool that you are passionate about things!

Trying new things can be scary and being scared of that doesn’t make you stubborn.

Adding to this with my own type of neurodivergencies if that's okay!!

It is okay if you cant feel things that other people feel. It doesn't make you a bad kid not to be able to empathize with others. The kindness in your actions towards them is what makes you a good kid.

Just because you aren't able to feel emotions as strongly as other kids, or because you tend to feel them even stronger, doesn't make you any less deserving of compassion. You are capable of being gentle; and if you dont want to be or aren't gentle, you deserve outlets for your emotions and ways to regulate just like any other kid.

How you percieve the world and how others percieve you because of it are not reflections on you as a person. Just because you have delusions or hallucinations doesn't mean you're scary.

There are people who will love you exactly the way you are, and lift you up to better yourself, out there. Your negative experiences can't define how you live your life forever. You deserve to heal and be happy!! And so does your inner child, regardless of neurodivergency!!

Some of you have got to understand and learn that just because something is on someone's dni list does not mean that that person hates people who do/are that thing. It does not even necessarily mean that they think the people on their dni are evil or morally wrong.

"DNI" means "Do Not Interact" and it is NOTHING but a list of what the person is/isn't comfortable with. You being On Someone's DNI does not = they want you to lose your rights and die in horrible ways.

It literally ONLY means (and should ONLY be used as) "this is who makes me uncomfortable. If you are one of these kinds of people, please do not interact with me or I will block you." No one person has perfectly correct morals and no one dni list is an exhaustive list of everyone who is Bad excluding everyone who is Good. That is simply not the way human people work.

Come on you guys. Someone denying you access to their blog on tumblr dot com because they don't vibe with you is not killing you dead. There are probably like a bazillion more blogs who are fine with you interacting. We have gotten much too comfortable violating people's boundaries just because we're online behind screens, and much too comfortable whining and throwing fits about it when they don't like it.

"Your posts are PUBLIC I can do whatever I want!" Yes, other people irl are out in public all the time too, but that doesnt mean we get to go up to them and say vile stuff just because we're "allowed" to.

And on that note, people you dislike and even hate still deserve basic human rights and decency
