Can you guys recommend more dog themed/vaguely dog themed songs so I can add to my dog playlist
Here are the songs I have so far
Coyote stalking a beaver By: J. Simon From: Wild, Wild World of Animals: Bears and Other Carnivores 1976
Ultimately, the real failure of Tumblr's mobile design is not accounting for the fact that a large portion of the platform's users have big stupid paws.

beautiful women named magenta cartridge low are trying to contact me on my printer
Kid today (probably like 6 years) came up to me and was like "teacher teacher what's your name" and i was like "asha :) also im not a teacher" and he was like "okay asha asha asha I need help" and i was like "okay buddy what's wrong" and he showed me this chunk of metal he'd found sitting in the sun that he was just carrying around and it was super sharp and super hot from the sun and he was like "my hand hurts :(" and i was like "ok. put that down. does it still hurt?" And he did and was like "no." and then he picked it up again and immediately went "my hand hurts :(" again and then I was like "kid. put that down and stop touching it" and he was like "ok but when I touch it my hand hurts :(" and i was like "Please Just Stop Touching That. If you dont touch it your hand won't hurt" and this went on for like another 2 minutes before i got him to realize that if he stopped touching the metal it would not hurt. Kids are so fucking weird man
Comments that make me realize this kid is probably what I sounded like to my therapist when complaining about the consequences of all my bad habits
no no no no get us OUT of the news please. no need. hahaha yeah please expose us to the general public i am sure there will be no negative attention. don't even wanna read this if i'm being completely honest. i don't expect the article to be negative but normal people do not need to know of this because what they'll say about it is so predictable AUFKAIFNDMSKFKGJSJ. this sucks i just wanted to scroll through the news man what
just wanna say the reason i found out im a therian was through a news video like this posted to youtube. i know visibility can bring hate. but it also introduces us to more beings who can read an article like this and have their first aha-moment of “wait, they’re just like me”.
visibility can connect us to alterhumans who have never heard about us before. visibility can teach beings that they don’t need to be human, they don’t need to hide themselves, that they’re not alone in their feelings.
[Image ID: Screenshot of a people.com news headline reading "Some teens are embracing animal personas and forming packs: 'I like being a dog'". There is a photo of a person wearing a canine mask and tail jumping on all fours over four other people in masks. End ID]
he was onto something
heres a reminder that it's ok to headcanon your favorite characters as an alterhuman and you should totally do so
we have next to no representation in media or at least no well known representation and it's about time we get that representation one way or another

Is it bad that I feel slightly bad that I keep coming to the library to use its quietness and its desk space and its pleasant atmosphere for writing but I never check out books?
Why would you feel bad? You’re using the library for one of its intended purposes. The desks, WiFi, space etc are LITERALLY there for you to do exactly what you’re doing AND each time you go in you add to the foot traffic numbers that prove hey people are coming in to use our stuff mr. government so keep funding us.
Confirmed by another public librarian. One of the stats we track is "WiFi usages"
That is, we track number of sessions/devices using it over time.
The library is not about snooping on what you're doing with that WiFi. Libraries respect privacy.
We literally have a door counter at my library. Congratulations, you just added to our statistics.
I think it's a bit sad that with more and more public spaces vanishing, people are feeling bad about not "buying" stuff to "earn" their time at a library.
A library is like a park, you're allowed to just. Exist in it.
I check out books every 4 weeks, when the learning period from my current books is up, but I go much more frequently with my kid to just sit there and read to them, and that's okay. In my school days, we'd go and do our research for presentations there, just reading, never checking out.
A library is a space to just exist.

HAPPY WET BEAST WEDNESDAY GRRRRR BORK
if websites in the US start requiring like age verification I think the only thing I'll even bother using the iternet for ever again is to buy shit like my cat's special food or idk fursuit making supplies and tickets for conventions. I really don't NEED social media or tumblr... I'd hate to loose my online herd but like... shit... I'm already considering just sticking to physical media. Like reading all the books I have and doing physical crafts.
Hey, Community Historians! How did people in otherkin groups keep in touch before the internet was more widespread and social? Penpals? Zines with mailing lists? Let's all do that again!
I'm just suffering from an anxious worry I guess. Typical Prey Animal things. I don't want to loose the community but I guess if I need to resort to just keeping a real notebook journal and only meeting therians at furry cons so be it?
forums, instant messaging, mailing lists (including emailing lists) and guestbooks were the most common ways of keeping in touch with folks. we've mostly been online for our history, but the silver elves pioneered it with their mailing list and newsletter
it's why we've been pushing personal websites so much--to help have a place to share your journaling and have a sense of community without the hassle of social media. it helps so much with feeling like youre A Part of the community by crafting something with your own hands instead of relying on an algorithm.
having a physical journal and meeting up irl isn't a bad idea either, but I feel like that would need a committed local mailing list to organize.
normalize happymaxxing. I love all of you. Let’s hold paws or whatever
