HELLOOOOOOOOOOO
And I do not mind at all! Ask away! So sorry for the late reply!
Notice: I DO NOT HAVE D.I.D. MYSELF. IF I HAVE ANYTHING WRONG PLEASE DO INFORM ME SO I CAN CHANGE IT, THANK YOU. There are also tws as usual so read with caution.
I do not think I can explain as thoroughly since it is a bit late (10pm-12pm) and I am really bad at writing but here are the notes:
Jeff was 7 when Liu was adopted, Liu was 4. Liu is adopted in 1970.
Liu Chen, now Mancini, is ABC, American Born Chinese. His parents are first generation immigrants making him second generation.
Liu was never diagnosed with DID and never will be.
Jeff moved from Jersey to Michigan when his family adopted Liu.
Their relationship was quiet at first, then they became close. This is not due to Liu since Liu tends to be more distant and is selectively mute at this time but, due to Sully, able to connect with other children.
Sully is a protector alter. He tries his best to not have himself get physically harmed so he talks things out more. Since he talks, he tends to try to use more "adult words". You can see how adorable it is when you hear a small 4 year old look at you in the eyes and say "Exquisitely" as "Eqwitelwy." He has a way of charming people. This nature would be his doom as he grows with Liu.
Around 6, Liu would eventually warm up to Jeff and be able to talk to him more comfortably. Baby Liu was just freshly starting school. In a primarily white town in Michigan, he felt out of place. Even more so that he notices Sully and thinks of him as "The twin that died." or a ghost (note: Sully is NOT a ghost or Liu's twin. This idea only came from Liu not understanding DID and never being diagnosed for it.) . He doesn't feel like he belongs, a freak that doesn't know who he is other than the bodyguard to his dead mother. He would cling onto Jeff and start to believe highly of him. Sully seems to trust Jeff, so why shouldn't he? Jeff didn't treat them differently.
Jeff, ever since he was young, believed he was living in a world of imagination. Anything he could think of can happen. And it was scary to him. He had this habit of thinking, worrying, paranoia of natural selection. Why did he exist, why did anyone exist, why did this Earth exist? Was he the only true being since he was the only one thinking this? He had to know. Liu being brought in only managed to make it worse. It had to be fate that Liu became his brother. Liu had to be special in some way to be in his family. And when he noticed the differences between Liu and Sully, he became curious. Jeff didn't know about D.I.D., or M.P.D as the 70s and 80s know it, so he just thought Liu was odd. Because he thought Liu was odd, he wanted to test out some things to see if Liu was an actual human being like him. A true human or , in his own mind (I do not believe this personally) a malfunction. (It is unsurprising that Jeff would grow to have his own "natural selection" hierarchy that is ableist, racist, and sexist.)
They were labeled as Jeff's "Experiments". It started when he was playing baseball with Liu. Jeff being 10, Liu being 7, Jeff's bat accidentally hit the batting tee. That specific sound triggered Sully to front. Jeff was confused on why Liu was suddenly confused at them playing baseball. Liu completely forgot the game, he had this far away look, and suddenly Liu is telling him to calmly put the bat down. Jeff's "Experiments" on Liu were just him being cruel and testing out each of Liu's triggers. From baths, cold water, sounds of lighters, banging on doors, rattling pill bottles, etc. He even went as far as attempting to drown Liu at their sleepaway camp at when Liu was 12. Liu doesn't know how to swim and had taken his arm floaties off earlier due to being picked on for it.
Liu would brush it off, for now, since he believed Jeff didn't truly want to hurt him. Liu didn't think Jeff would do as his abusers did, especially when they had such a good relationship in the beginning.
If the incident means the JTK backstory: Jeff was always a good brother to Liu, in Liu's eyes. It would fall once the incident happened. Liu being 14, Jeff being 17 at the start.
The whole Randy thing would start it all. Jeff was an acne covered teen wearing a reverse headgear still. He's been wearing it since 14. The whole thing would go as usual. Randy and his friends repeatedly teasing and mocking Jeff; Liu (Though more so Sully) would defend Jeff and talk him out of trouble. Jeff felt weak from this and he hated being weak. He hated feeling like he owed something to people who clearly did not have a better life themselves. Jeff would encase himself deeper in the idea of natural selection, believing the God that made them was wrong, not all men are born equal, and that he should kill anyone that he deemed was too weak. He kept this idea to himself. His parents would soon find out about the bullying, as did Keith, Troy, Randy, and every single other fucker in that group's parents.
This would, instead of separation, a little "playdate"! A potluck at a park. Good food, the grill pulled out, and children who hate each other being forced to mingle. A fight would break out between Randy and Jeff. They'd bump into some lighter fluid, then, of course, the grill. The charcoal lit both of them on fire. Liu would try to put the fire out and drag Jeff away, causing him to get burnt on his arms and hands. Randy, Jeff, and Liu would be sent to the hospital. Liu would be sent home early while Randy and Jeff stayed behind. Jeff's dumbass natural selection ideology would get the best of him. After he was healed, and Randy wasn't, he had Liu join him to visit Randy. Jeff has Liu carry his school bag by saying that they'll studying together later so Jeff can catch up. Jeff tells Liu to go to a vending machine, Jeff kills Randy by using an at-home syringe of tap water into his IV bag that he hid in Liu's bag and then puts it bag in Liu's bag, Tells Liu that he'll be in the bathroom, Liu stays behind to watch over Randy, then they'll leave together. Randy dies due to infection, hospital looks through visit list, Police end up at the Mancini household, Liu didn't clean his bag and the syringe was found, Liu is tried for murder. The camera's at the hospital "miraculously" didn't work.
During this time, Liu looks over at Jeff to help as an alibi, Jeff frames Liu. Their parents don't fight since they believe Jeff. Sully tries to talk it out, it doesn't work. Liu is tried as a minor, given seven years. He is locked away in Juvie.
Jeff begins killing everyone he deems weak. His parents, neighbors, animals, Keith and Troy, eventually also aiming for Liu.
Once Liu gets released for the insufficient amount of evidence three months later, he comes home to an empty bloody house full of rotten the corpses of his adoptive parents, and Jeff waiting to attack him. He tries to push Jeff away and kick him down. Jeff eventually does back down. Not because he doesn't want to kill Liu, but because the police finally came.
Liu is 17, Jeff is 20. Jeff runs off, Liu gets placed in the system again. Liu runs away from his foster home and ends up some place else where he kills the first guy who provokes him, leads Sully to hide the body in a panic, and steal the car the guy owns which is ,iirc from me typing, a Ford Galaxie 500.
Liu no longer thinks of Jeff as a brother and hates Jeff for killing the only Family he has. Sully distrusts Jeff but is conflicted since he still remembers Jeff as his older brother and Jeff is all he has.
Liu's main goal is to track Jeff down on a road trip over America to kill Jeff and then himself. He has nothing else to lose. He takes his old last name, "Chen", back.
If you mean the incident as in the phone lines:
Jeff gets connected not by trauma but by his sheer audacity. The Hatman only appears during Trauma. Jeff doesn't experience Trauma. He gets the hotline simply because he's a deplorable human being who thinks he's inhuman. He only is connected through Clockwork who is in the 1940s and is 32 years old. He isn't allowed to be connected to anyone else due to his ideology. Brian used to be there as well but Brian's dead and the new Brian still is in training.
Liu gets connected on accident through the Unknown Line (The AU's name). The unknown line is a line that accidentally breaks off and enters a "normal person's " Telephone. Jack is his first contact. Jack begins leaking info about Jeff's whereabouts to Liu. Liu has very faint memory on seeing the Hatman since he saw the hatman only during ages less than 3. The last time Liu saw the hat man was at 12 when Jeff pushed Liu into the cold lake at their summer camp. He joins the telephone line in 1994
Connecting to Doctor's Au in the Connected Line:
It was all and accident. That's all I can say. Rodgers (His Toby) and Chen are both so good and yet so bad together.
