During the summer I was involved in an accident that left me with a broken ankle an unable to work. All medical treatments had to come out of pocket as my insurance either lapsed or wouldn’t cover it, which still left me in a terrible position.
Now that my bone is finally fully healed (I am in poor health so the bone took longer and I reinjured a torn ligament while out job hunting that’s put me back in bed for a while) I am in a walking boot most days and required now to take physical therapy which I cannot afford in order to gain full mobility back. So I’ve just been doing it myself and praying for the best. My left leg has atrophied quite a bit and doesn’t quite hold all of my weight. Which just means chronic pain while I exist right now.
I lost my job due to this accident and am at a loss completely. I have never had a job that didn’t require me to stand/work long hours and unemployment is ending and I have depleted all of my resources trying to get by.
After paying rent I have just enough for food for the month MAYBE, not counting transportation and trying to book gigs that will actually pay me, and I just know that I need help, I am drowning and spiraling and being in this situation makes it so hard to even fucking think
I know I’m asking a lot but I’m trying to reach $4k-$5k to cover rent and physical therapy until I can walk properly and have stable work again, I’m applying every day, and once my leg is in better shape I may even have a job waiting for me, I just need help and I can’t do this alone anymore, I can’t

So, I lost my mom suddenly last March and it’s almost been a year since she’s been gone. Literally one day I was talking to her, then the next she wasn’t here anymore. I remember the day very vividly. Better than any good day I may have had. More vividly than any birthday. Like most sudden and tragic things, this has taken a toll on my personal relationships and how I view death.
Trying to understand and have peace with what happened has been unimaginably difficult. What’s been even more difficult is trying to make others understand who never had a sudden loss of a loved one. For some, the thought of losing a parent makes them emotional, but for others it’s unimaginable. For me, my mom was the most consistent thing in my life. Even when she wasn’t consistent, that was consistent. Her mannerisms, the way she talk, walked, laughed, got upset, all things that were expected; unlike her death.
Having something like that suddenly taken away is painful. Like, physically and emotionally. Yet somehow, I find myself jealous. She was in constant pain from her hip and knee surgeries. She struggled with substance abuse. She was also in school, trying to grasp new knowledge that was damn near gibberish to someone in their early 60s. But she pushed through. Was she rewarded for her life long struggles by being accepted into limbo bliss? Is death really the reward all along?
Idk. I just know that I miss her terribly.
