can i just add into this quick? This makes me so pumped and proud of comics these days for a few reasons: 1) Epic representation of cultures. Seeing how this shows a person from the Inuit culture expressing actual EXCITEMENT FOR THEIR CULTURE is amazing! The Inuit culture is so facinating and the ties of Native American/Inuit/First Peoples and the bonds of family is so cool and inspiring to see that now kids IN SAID CULTURE can be proud of it too! 2) Branching out. For decades,comics focused on America that it was almost shocking to see a hero from a different country. I mean, “Heaven forbid there be heroes from other countries” right? but now in these few pannels, we see that a MAJOR AMERICAN company like Marvel is making a CANADIAN hero again! (i know technically Alpha Flight and Wolverine are Canadians but i mean, come on. they always focus on the tropes of Canada that Canadians are only located in the woods in Alberta, in Vancouver BC, in Greater Toronto Area in Ontario or from major cities in Quebec). It’s epic that they’re branching into more areas of my country and that it’s showing more Canadians can be heroes too. and Finally, 3) Diversity. Young females need heroes just as much as males. While i’m a Cis male; I still think it’s dumb that in the future my daughter can only look up to liek 2 or 3 female heroes. There’s lots of totally B-A women in cultures and in folklore out there. Let’s get them in the spotlight and show that females can be more than just the ones needing saving! summary: Marvel & DC making epic cultural respecting heroes out there for all the lil kids out there that they can dream they too can be heroes (even if they aren’t from the traditional American cities)! thank you for your time ^^
