took away his hammer, signifying that Thor was indeed a character beyond the hammer

took out his eye, signifying that Thor was powerful beyond his physical attributes and ready to take on the responsibility as king 

put Thor as the underdog in the situation, reminding the audience that Thor is clever and intelligent, not only optimistic and cheerful, and purely brawn

had him meet Valkyrie and earn her loyalty, showing him as a leader ready to right the wrongs of Asgard’s past and encourage his people to a better path

developed his relationship with Loki, reminding the audience that they were still brothers and Thor had great capacity for forgiveness, but wasn’t stupid enough to blindly trust Loki 

destroyed Asgard, showing that Thor is ready to take, make, and recover from the big sacrifices and do whatever it takes to keep, care, and protect his people

“Homosexuality Is ... Nothing To Be Ashamed Of” Said Freud

Freud was wrong about almost everything. But he had a couple redeeming qualities, among them that he did not consider homosexuality an illness or something to be eradicated. Which was extremely ahead of his time. In 1935, psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud was contacted by a worried mother. She was seeking treatment for her son, who was apparently gay. Freud believed that all humans are attracted to both sexes in some capacity. So he responded with the following letter of advice:

Dear Mrs [Erased],

I gather from your letter that your son is a homosexual. I am most impressed by the fact that you do not mention this term yourself in your information about him. May I question you why you avoid it? Homosexuality is assuredly no advantage, but it is nothing to be ashamed of, no vice, no degradation; it cannot be classified as an illness; we consider it to be a variation of the sexual function, produced by a certain arrest of sexual development. Many highly respectable individuals of ancient and modern times have been homosexuals, several of the greatest men among them. (Plato, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, etc). It is a great injustice to persecute homosexuality as a crime – and a cruelty, too. If you do not believe me, read the books of Havelock Ellis.

By asking me if I can help, you mean, I suppose, if I can abolish homosexuality and make normal heterosexuality take its place. The answer is, in a general way we cannot promise to achieve it. In a certain number of cases we succeed in developing the blighted germs of heterosexual tendencies, which are present in every homosexual in the majority of cases it is no more possible. It is a question of the quality and the age of the individual. The result of treatment cannot be predicted.

What analysis can do for your son runs on a different line. If he is unhappy, neurotic, torn by conflicts, inhibited in his social life, analysis may bring him harmony, peace of mind, full efficiency, whether he remains a homosexual or gets changed. If you make up your mind he should have analysis with me — I don’t expect you will — he has to come over to Vienna. I have no intention of leaving here. However, don’t neglect to give me your answer.

Last week at the gym, this dude wrapped his hands to do pull-ups. Half-assed pull-ups. He then had his girlfriend unwrapped his hands, like he just did 4 rounds of hard sparring. Today, he did 3 sets of push ups/burpees or whatever he was doing, WEARING MMA GLOVES!

What I Should Have Said

Cardio day yesterday. I was running on the treadmill, and after 10 minutes I stepped off while leaving the treadmill running with my towel on the railing to have a drink. I went to where I left my stuff (my bottle was too big for the treadmill's bottle holder), had a sip and went back. It took me about 10 seconds and when I went back to the treadmill, where an obese lady was on my treadmill. She stopped my running settings, and said "oh, I thought you were done." I tend to avoid conflicts, so I told her it was fine and finished my cardio on the elliptical. WISHS: You obviously need the treadmill more than I do. Enjoy your 12 minute walk Shamu.
