“So it is you,” a gravelly voice said next to Steve.

A very handsome man was standing to Steve’s left side, a glass of liquid amber in one hand and the other hand nonchalantly hidden in his pocket. He was just as tall as Steve, if not slightly shorter, his dark hair gathered in a loose bun and wearing a fitted black button-down shirt, with black slacks that hugged his thighs perfectly. 

Steve was gapping at him, his eyes opened as if he had been caught up like a deer in car lights.

“And for the record,” the dark haired man addressed Peggy directly, “he was not dragged into fights, more like started the fights himself.” The smile on his face was just as blinding as the sun. “Hello, Stevie. It’s been a while.”

aka Steve takes his wife Peggy to his high school reunion, reunites with his childhood crush/best friend and ends up in a Bucky/Peggy sandwich. (I wish I was Steve tbh)

Feeling a little bit confident he decides to leave everything and everyone behind and runs away, as far as he could get. He finds an ad in the newspaper looking for a babysitter. Could this be his chance to find his new normal? Title: To Speak or to Die Pairings, or other characters: Steve/Bucky Genre: Fluff, angst. High school AU, friends to… it’s complicated, very slow burn, unrequited love, ambiguous ending. Type of beta you would like: A little bit of grammar, heavy on the plot flow and characterization. I like nit-picking, detailed criticism, and listening to (or participating in!) my riffing about characters and plot. I think most of all I need a cheerleader to make sure I’m not giving up, as I’m just beginning right now. Also, points if anyone knows anything about baseball. Length/Word Count: Given that the outline is 2,900 words… long. Very long. I estimate 20-50k. Short Summary: Taking place in a vaguely midwestern town, Steve and Bucky befriend each other their sophomore year in high school. Steve is a spunky, do-gooding overachiever, and Bucky is a baseball-playing, extroverted C-student. Both boys are mostly oblivious to how they feel toward each other, while it’s painfully obvious (or just painful) to the reader. It follows them to the end of high school, where Steve decides *drum roll please* whether it’s better to speak, or to die.
