“What happened was unacceptable. Last I checked, kidnapping was frowned upon on Earth. Who the hell okayed that?”
destroyrofworlds:
“I think we’re way past hugging it out at this point. The Inhumans are pissed.”
Carol’s jaw was clenched as she look at the Inhuman. “They have a right to be. I am too. How the hell did this happen?”
bcrtonhawk:
“If you’re about to ask me about Tony, I have no comment.”
“No comment on how your protege, Barnes and Johnson lost Ulysses to Stark and put everything at risk?”
valvondoom:
“Woah, lemme stop you right there—” Val interrupted the person who was speaking to her, holding a free hand out while simultaneously taking a bite from the jerky she was snacking on. “I highly doubt my parents or the Fantastic Four want anything to do with this mess.”
“Well, I was hoping to hear it from the horses mouth. Where’s your dad?”
xsniktx:
“There’s been a lot going on. Been busy. If you’ve got something to say, spit it out.”
“I’m looking for Xavier.” Carol cut to the chase. “It’s important. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t.”
destroyrofworlds:
Daisy couldn’t even contain her excitement, and that was pretty evident by her grin as she nodded. “Duh, right?…. Sorry.” She stood up a bit straighter at the question and tried to put on her agent face, despite all of the questions she wanted to ask. Carol was beyond cool. “Daisy Johnson, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Medusa actually sent me to talk to you.”
“Nice to meet you, Daisy Johnson.” The agents name easily fell off Carol’s lips. She straightened up slightly at the mention of the Queen. “Medusa? Is this about Ulysses, then?”
medusaliiths:
“He’s doing very well, actually. I think he’s ready for what’s going to come next.” Medusa tried to smile softly, but she couldn’t hide the worry in her eyes. This entire situation was very fragile, and she knew that it could go South very fast given how tense things have been between everyone. “We’re almost ready to reveal him. That’s what I wanted to talk to you about, actually. To set up a meeting with everyone. We have press releases ready but we’d prefer for the initial discussion to be a little more private first.”
He was just a kid. That’s all that he was. He was in college with his life just starting. Now, he was the start of a movement. “It’s going to be a mixed bag after the Brood invasion and what happened to Jessica.” There was an uncomfortable silence; Carol know that her variant was best friends with the Spider-Woman. “But I agree, a meeting will be good. I’ll start spreading the news.”
pixelated-peter:
“It’s cold out— you should be wearing gloves!”
She was hovering above the ground, boots dangling above the ground. “Got that covered. Is that really what’s on your mind right now?”
spiderxling:
“—sorry! Didn’t mean to land so close to you! Are you alright? I didn’t step on you did I?”
“I think I can handle being stepped on. I know I’ve been through worse.” Carol snorted. “Nice to see you, Spider-man.”
scientistsuprcme:
Carol had a point, actually. As much as Monica hated to admit that. “What are you doing here, Captain?”
“Ulysses.” She clasped her hands in front of her. “What do you know?”
dxstiny:
“Seeing possible futures is not as fun as people like to think it is. Until you experience it yourself.. it is difficult to truly explain.”
“We need Ulysses.” Resolution coated her tone. “We need his gift of foresight. It’s going to help us.”
electrifyingg:
“I was in a ship, in space, and it exploded. Not sure how I’m supposed to just move on from that and go be a doctor again.”
“Ship explosion, huh?” Carol understood a thing or two about that. “You learn to find a new normal. It takes time.”
mystiicmaster:
“..was I supposed to be listening? If you haven’t noticed, there are more important things currently keeping me occupied.”
It took a lot to stop from audibly exhaling in annoyance. “Classy, Stephen.” Carol crossed her arms over her chest, feet planted. “I don’t think anything is important as Ulysses right now. Tony’s drawn his line in the sand. Where do you stand?”
havk:
“hey! i take offense to that. and the fact that you’re probably not wrong.”
“I’m usually right.” Carol smirked. “Alex Summers?”
hardycat:
“Of course you have,” Felicia smiled sarcastically at the Captain in front of her. She knew what Carol was likely here to talk about and she was hoping to prolong it for as long as possible, but unfortunately it didn’t look like she’d get to. She glanced down at the pile of papers that was covering that folder as she shrugged and stood up from her chair. “I’m not sure what you’re talking about,” Felicia tried to insist, pacing around her desk to get a little closer before she crossed her arms and sat on top of the desk instead. As Carol mentioned how unstable Star was, Felicia scoffed. “Yeah, I know. So I don’t know why you’d think I want anything to do with her. You and I both know that I don’t do messy.”
“C’mon. Don’t make us do this the hard way.” Carol’s smile was lined with lead. She was tense, tired. Felicia wasn’t a threat but she wasn’t interested in a nuisance either. “She’s incredibly powerful. I think that may be a good enough reason to risk getting your hands messy. Who wouldn’t want an Infinity Stone?” Carol hadn’t known what the hell they were before one one had blasted her straight in the face. “Will a simple back off work here?”
rocketngroot:
“are you some kind of idiot or somethin’?! don’t touch my stuff!”
Inspecting the bauble for a moment, Carol tossed it to the side. “I need to know where you’re at, Rocket.” She spoke, direct in intent. “Where you stand.”
mvrdck:
matt shrugged, fabric rustling as he moved, “i didn’t realize so many people would be needing legal counsel all at once,” he kept his voice low. judging by carol’s overall demeanor, she was here on her own volition, “why are you here, captain?”
“Seemed to be the hip thing to do.” She retorted. Carol was more than a little out of date as to what was hip. She had gone from her time with the Kree to living in space primarily. “Jen Walters passed your name along. Apparently, you work with supers.”
