As a reminder of the wisdom and strength of the Capitol, tributes will be elected by citizens of the Capitol from a drawn pool of district citizens.

On the day of the reaping, five male and five female candidates will be chosen from each of the twelve districts. These candidates will then be individually interviewed. Citizens of the Capitol will be provided their responses, as well as a ballot. The candidate from each pool who has received the most nominations will then be transported to the Capitol to participate in the Hunger Games.

THE TRIBUTE TRAIN: Opulence to the extreme is what awaits the tributes as they board the tribute train. With nineteen carriages in total, each District gets their own sleeping quarters as well as a few added bonuses to help the tributes get to know one another. In those carriages, tributes will find bars and lounges, dining rooms and entertainment rooms, and even saunas - all of which are open to the tributes and manned by a dedicated team of Avoxes who will serve your every need. The tribute train is the only aspect of your journey to the games that will not be televised. Take this time to get to know your fellow tributes and figure out your game plan before the cameras turn on and your lives are no longer your own.

Anias grew up an orphan, his parents from District Thirteen both killed in the chaotic aftermath of the Second Rebellion. Fearing for their lives, a group of displaced rebels adopted Anias and fled to Twelve to start a new life. While he doesn’t remember his parents, Anias is well aware of the sacrifices they made. He only hopes that he can one day live up to them.

Rather than accept this status with humility, he’s made it a point to show off as frequently and as ostentatiously as possible. In fact, humility doesn’t seem to be a word in Jasper’s vocabulary.

August is what many might describe as a few eggs short of a dozen, but she couldn’t tell you what they’d mean by that. Her four pet chickens meant that she almost always had at least a dozen eggs, unless her family had friends over who wanted eggs for breakfast. Or if she decided to bake a cake on a whim. Or if she sold some of her eggs in town. Or if she dropped a few of them while she was carrying them in from the coop. Other than that she always has more than a dozen eggs.
