All Canon info about the series

I’ve been rewatching the Captain Underpants movie lately and I thought, what the hell, I’m bored, let’s figure out the timeline for the movie. 😂

(I was mainly inspired by @biolizardboils’s headcanon post regarding the books’ timeline)

First off, I’m gonna humor the idea that due to the significant lack of modern technology (i.e. smartphones, iPods, laptops etc.), the movie takes place in 1997, the year the first book was released.

Second, I’m gonna disregard the calendar outside of Mr. Krupp’s office.

While yes, it says April 28th, it obviously hasn’t been used in some time, seeing as how it’s obviously still early to mid autumn, which helps narrow things down.

Judging from what I’ve looked up online, the official start of the School Year for students in 1997-98 was August 11th.

So, taking that into account, along with the tallies we see in this girl’s locker at the start of the movie, which shows about 9 and a half weeks into the school year…

Adding all those up (not counting weekends) I can conclude that the events of the movie start on October 15th, 1997.

And this actually lines up with Mr. Fyde’s comment about the upcoming Invention Convention on Saturday being the third one that month.

Further adding onto this; seeing as how the following Monday was when the boys go after the Tattle Turtle and make the worst best decision of their lives… I can actually conclude that Captain Underpants was “born” on October 20th.

Since it’s revealed in the series that Krupp graduated from high school in 1993... we now know the year he was born and his actual age.

Benjamin Krupp was born on April 1st, 1975.

Which makes him 45 in present day.

Fun Fact: Red hair and blue eyes is the rarest combination on earth! + the fact that his eyes are a aqua tinted icy color, makes it super rare. Jeez.

In Season 2 of The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, it’s revealed that Captain (and most likely Krupp as well) is allergic to bees.

Cannon Fact 79

Judging by some of the rather depressing things Captain says in episode 4 after being bitten by the Vimpire (i.e., “I started going bald in my teens!”, “I’ve never felt truly loved!”), it’s sort of implied that Krupp’s memories can subconsciously bleed into his.

In episode 3 of Epic Tales, Mr. Meaner laments over how he needed only 2 more years of high school, etc in order to become a surgeon. We can assume that he probably dropped out of high school in sophomore year.
