Shimizu: It was about a year before the announcement of our infinite hiatus, in the summer of 2013, that we started to talk about it. After celebrating the 10th anniversary of our bedut, we suddenly realized that we’d become the eldest ones among H!P even though we used to be the youngest ones. And turning into our twenties was also a big thing. All of us had got to think about our future lives seriously. One day we’re in a dressing room, we talked about “what we would be like from now on”, “what we’d like to do from now on” and things which we hadn’t mentioned of before. Then it had turned out that each of us actually had things she wanted to do in the future. Since then we’d discussed over those issues many times. We had a time some member got moved to tears being overcome by emotion and it made the others cry in sympathy. I, as the captain, tried to listen to the others talking and realized how much we’d grown up. And then, there’s a chance we got all together at the office for some business, we asked the staffs to make a meeting with us. There we told them that we wanted to suspend our activity as we had things we wanted to do and wanted to go for them. To tell the truth, I was also considering my future just when it had become the topic among us. Since I had got shocked to know how I knew nothing about ordinary things through conversations with my local friends in my generation. I didn’t know how to use computers, how to book railway tickets and hotels for travel, because our staffs would do everything on my behalf on business. I’d never done these things all by myself, indeed. And I’d also got shocked by that I couldn’t come up with some kanji characters when I had to fill a questionare for some publicity, like “Am I okay like this as a woman over 20?”. To begin with, I’d like to buy books and textbooks to study various things all over again. And I’d also like to learn more of dancing which I like very much. I’ve performed also as a member of the Dance Club in H!P concerts, and I’d always get excited to have different dance coaches teaching me new methods like “oh, I’ve never think of dancing this way”. So I’d like to go to their dance lessons from now on. My father says “Why don’t you think of going abroad someday?”, but I’m afraid I couldn’t because I don’t like to stay away from my family and my friends.
